Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIThis is what happens when things get on top of people. They just can't handle any more. I know Ian Beale's not the best ever example, but at least EE is raising awareness. Trouble is people rarely notice anything is wrong until it's too late. Too much thinking of their own trivial issues...

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIThink he had a lot on his plate and that really pushed him over the age.(Original post by QwertyG)
Why is Ian like this what happened is it because of Ben?? -
Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIWhat did he have on his plate?? I think he was acting weird before the accountant told him he is getting to debt(Original post by morris743)
Think he had a lot on his plate and that really pushed him over the age. -
Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIWell, finding out your brother is a murderer can't be easy lol. Plus, he feels threatened by Phil - he has always been terrified of him - and he has the money issues, which he has already gone through before [back when we had scenes of Ian begging Phil for money to stop him losing everything, which he did anyway]. It can't be good to have the risk of bankrupcy again, after building yourself back up from it once already. Plus, he knows his relationship with Mandy isn't great - they've had the bedroom issues for ages and even he must suspect the gold-digger angle, given his persistence in splashing cash he doesn't have.(Original post by QwertyG)

So, on his plate, I'd say he has:
- Knowledge of a murderering brother.
- Fear of Phil and what Phil will do if he tells anyone the above.
- Relationship problems/doubts with Mandy.
- Money worries, harking back to his previous bankrupcy.
Perfectly understandable that it would make him flip.
I thought it was quite a powerful episode, I felt so sorry for him when he was out in the street begging Mandy to stay.

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIII agree with this. He is a pathetic character, but EE did a good job of making us feel sorry for him on today's episode. I have to say, Adam Woodyatt is a great actor.(Original post by affinity89)

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIII don't think she photographs well, but yeah she's alrite.(Original post by Kruz)
Ian's all over the gaff, he's a mess a ticking time bomb. I don't know why, but Lucy's quite fit tbf. -
Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIWho's the othr?(Original post by Mess.)
The old pictures of her aren't great but she has really improved in the show. Adds a bit of sexy glamour to the show. So now we have two females worth watching

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIWhile I adopt an innocent until proven guilty stance, I really hope the producers do not and fire him for this, just so I can start watching EE again.(Original post by secretmessages)
'EastEnders' star Joshua Pascoe 'arrested over alleged sex assault'

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIlol that's nice...(Original post by syrettd)
While I adopt an innocent until proven guilty stance, I really hope the producers do not and fire him for this, just so I can start watching EE again.
The press in this country are scum. He could be completely innocent; now there will always be a thought in the back of people's mind, especially thick people who would have selective amnesia and say "oh look there's that guy who raped someone"
Ben and his story are hardly the worst in EE tbh. Not my cup of tea on the whole but a saving grace atm! The episodes with Whitney, Tyler, Lauren etc...episodes where we're meant to care about such morons...lol -
Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIAgreed. Anything to get his ratty little face off my screen(Original post by syrettd)

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIII know, remember Michael Le Vell in Coronation Street? The press leaped on (the false) accusations of child abuse. Luckily for him, the producers at Corrie didn't believe them and he wasn't even given suspension from work while he was fighting them. I think that helped a lot for him; when he was still on TV people seemed more likely to believe he was innocent.(Original post by morris743)

However, I still hope that EE producers decide differently...
EDIT: And yeah, the mass of teens in the square is also annoying to watch. I do not care about any of them, especially the brat that is Lauren! Them and Ben is the reason I'm not watching atm.Last edited by syrettd; 26-05-2012 at 22:27. -
Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKII
So, I watched Eastenders on Friday evening and the following situation piqued my verisimilitude-dar . . .
Ian threw a ring in the middle of a pancake which was cooking on a gas stove. He then left the house a wandered up the motorway. His daughter walks in afterwards and saves the house from burning down by taking the saucepan off of the heat and nonchalantly removing the ring from the saucepan.
OK, so we can deduce that although not a great deal of time, at least a fair amount of time had elapsed between Ian leaving the house and the daughter entering the house. Enough time for the thermal barrier of the pancake to lose it's efficacy. Unless the ring was a piece of sh*t made from flimsy, rolled up aluminium foil then I would at least expect the girl to hurriedly pluck the ring out or exhibit a remotely pained facial expression and not one more akin to picking a buttercup from a florid meadow on a spring day.Last edited by Palatial Veranda; 27-05-2012 at 02:42.
