Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKII
Since there is no more EE this week, I'll add the spoilers today for anyone who wants them. So next week- no Eastenders on Friday, but apart from that, the schedule is normal EXCEPT it will be on BBC2.
Spoiler:ShowCora doesn't want to discuss Tanya's unheard of sister, but eventually tells Tanya that Ava died as a baby. Tanya doesn't believe this as she doesn't understand why her mum has kept it a secret. Later, Cora is found burning the birth certificate. As Tanya and Cora argue, Cora says a few home truths about previous times Tanya has lied. Lauren is volunterring at a homeless shelter to get free gig tickets and Tanya decides to help out to ease her conscience. Lauren then convinces Cora to fix her relationship with Tanya.
Lucy is excited to volunteer with Lauren and Whitney, but when more bills need to be paid she has to stay at the cafe. She comes up with a money making scheme and, with the help of the male teens on the square, seems to finally be getting on top of looking after the businesses. This of course creates the massive coincidence where Lauren sees Ian in the homeless shelter! She tells her parents who get Alfie and go looking for Ian, who is asleep in an underpass. They clean him up and take him home, but Lucy is not pleased to see him.
YAY! MASOODS! INCLUDING SYED AND CHRISTIAN!
Mas tells Zainab about his interview but she is not pleased. However, after talking to Syed, she says she will support him if he wants a new job. But realising how much his wedding and Tamwar's course fees will cost, Mas lies and says he did not get the job. Syed is also having money problems and takes it out on Christian, having a massive argument with him when he finds out Christian and Roxy want to enter Yasmin in Walford's Top Tots competition. However, Christian enters Yasmin anyway. Roxy accidentally tells Syed, but all arguments are soon forgotten when he hears of the £500 prize. Zainab then decides to enter Kamil!
Elsewhere, Lola begins her community service and tries to fix Ben and Jay's friendship. They pretend to get on for the sake of Lexi, but Jay tells Ben the friendship will never be the same again. Kim is worried after finding a load of missed calls from a woman on Ray's phone and he lies about where he is- but should she really talk about it in front of Sasha (answer: probably not.)? Jean accidentally makes Alice believe that Anthony has feeling for her, so he unwillingly takes her on a date. However, Joey and Derek are on the same side when they both want the relationship ended. Michael wants Alfie for support as he waits for Janine and Scarlett to come home, but Alfie is distracted by Ian and Michael is left feeling even more isolated.
Not looking too bad. -

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKII
What a borefest. You can tell the Tanya sister storyline has literally been created to fill airtime, no real point for it tbh.
Slightly intrigued by Syed's disappearance/conversations with his "stock supplier", they seem to be making quite an effort for us to notice that conversation. -

Re: Megathread of EastEnders MKIIBack in the (hesitant to say 50's/60's), unwed mothers would give birth in 'institutions'. It was considered disgraceful (and in some cases a psychological problem) to have a child out of wedlock, so these women were kept hidden away by their families until they had given birth. The children were then taken away from their mothers and, I believe, given up for adoption. The mother's were sent home and would likely never see their child again. There's an interesting article on the matter here.(Original post by amarjit18)
In yesterday's episode, what did tanya mean by asking cora if she was in an institution because she was only 18 when she had tanya's sister ?, whats an institution ?
Im sorry if this sounds like a stupid question :-)
This was posted from The Student Room's Android App on my R800i
Tanya was however also considering that Ava may have had some sort of mental/physical deficit which meant she was living in an "institution" (aka some sort of care home, hospital or asylum).

It's been so long since he had a storyline.
I think she is an amazing actress
