Sorry I didn't realise you weren't allowed to post DJ mixes. I assumed it'd be ok if they weren't split into seperate tracks, but there you go.

    No he isnt
    Seconded

And I think that you'll find that most people who enjoy DJs like Tiesto, Ferry, PvD, Armin, etc etc will agree that Jules is pretty poor.

Whilst those who like Jules, may enjoy the others, but will argue that Jules is "the best DJ in the world".

So either you love him or you don't. Most people don't. He used to be good (years ago) but in recent years is really awful. Really awful!!

Agree completely. I used to rate him quite highly (would never say he was in the top 10 of djs, but he was decent). Then he started selling out by doing all these "classics" shows and "anthems" I hate that ****. Then I saw him live and he was an absolute ****ing cocky **** who didnt give a **** what anyone thought of the music he was playing (which was ****). And then saw him again at Global Gathering, at which he was greated to loud boo's from the crowd that actually know dance music and not just radio one classics.

Sorry for the rant but him and that ****** westwood do my head in. "DJs"

Re: Dance and Trance Music Society
To be fair, I love the classics/anthems nights, as long as it's done properly. A "classic" is just good trance which is a few years old - you all know the ones I mean (Adagio for Strings, No One on Earth, Satellite, etc.).....not just commercial dance, which might be good, but it's not "classic trance"!

So if you get a good DJ - Hardwick for example - doing a classics set you're in for a good night (best trance night I've had out in recent times was back in January at a classics night at Digital in Newcastle)...but Jules' sets are just badly organised and as Miki says he doesn't care what people think of his music - he loves himself and doesn't listen to the crowd. Most (good) DJs would get their act together if they realised people were leaving the dancefloor, or just mooching around rather than really dancing and cheering - pick some better tracks, sharpen up the mixing, etc. but Jules just keeps going at it, convinced it's the crowd that's wrong - not his tracklist or mixing!

Oh yeah and also classics nights tend to be way cheaper than regular nights, as you get a lot of local DJs doing them, which can be an amazing night as you don't get idiot charvers going "AR yeh look it's like that DJ like - Judge Jules he's wikked like we'll have to go there like!!!" - they don't recognise the names of local DJs so they keep away, unlike the dedicated crowd who recognise the talent that local DJs have. Just makes the night that bit better

Re: Dance and Trance Music Society
well it seems that some know Jules more than i do ........anyway sure when i say that he's one of the best doesn't mean that he's among the top's 10 or sort of,,

and u really criticize his music well that's bcoz u r involved more since most of the DJ's destinations in their world tour is in europe in general so u have better knowledge ...
im really happy i got into the society so that i'd know more

but really wat he did in lebanon back in december was great...and comparable to other top DJ's that visited the country..
and cant under- estimate lebanon in the trance scene since tiesto and PVD say that its one of the best destinations for them in thier world and on top of their priorities each year..they never missed it
in addition to armin van buuren, marco v, nick warren, ferry, above and beyond, sasha, and others........

Note to self... never bother ever seeing him.
I'm looking forward to Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem. Occasionally I think 'hmm this is a bit commercial for how i feel at the moment' but then I remember the line up, it is flipping brilliant! Not long to go now

I can feel myself crossing over to the dark side. I find myself listening to the Electro House di.fm channel.
