Any mature Leeds students out there?

Hi, I'm starting at the University of Leeds next month as a mature student.

I'm especially seeking others like me, particularly those on my Q300 English course, who might be able to share advice/thoughts/questions on these forums.

They should do more to have a mature students social presence, the social scene for PhDs is pretty good, most of them are mid 20s to late 30s, maybe a bit of facebook networking could get something going for the mature students especially the the late 20s/early 30s who are single and want to make friends and socialise with more people than just the 18 year olds.

Ha, I might be doing the opposite :tongue:

flat in Leeds for Uni but I have placement in Cottingham 3 days a week so might look for somewhere over there to stay to cut down travel

Im 25 and will be living in Oxley House studying in Law. I still don't consider myself all that "mature" but thats up for debate lol.

Likewise! Lol. I'm 24 this year and doing law too (: Are you doing the 2 years prog?

I read that there's gonna be a mature students coffee sesh thing on the evening of 20th and 29th Sept. Will yall go for it?

Yes I'm doing the 2 year LLB program. I'll definitely be going to all the meetings and socials for law students. How about yourself?

I think the house is this converted manor with lots of rooms whereas the blocks are purpose built but not as nice to look at! Theres a picture of the house here...http://www.leeds.ac.uk/accommodation/oxleyresidences/index.htm

Well I actually got it off the International Welcome Prog. Details:

Mature Undergraduates’ Welcome Sessions
If you are a mature undergraduate, come along to meet UK and International mature students and ask your questions about student life in Leeds. Light refreshments will be served.
Where? Room 12.19 Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Building.
When? 20th and 29th of Sept: 17.30 – 18.45.
