Those are still pretty respectable grades, I would wait until you get AS results before you totally dismiss going into medicine. Also I think you can take a biomedical sciences degree (easier to get into) and go into medicine after if that's really what you want to do.
Damn my school needs to have an advisor like you. My careers advisor sucks

But anyway you sure? I don't know, they seem too crappy compared to many on here and YouTube!

    I don't like pen pushers.
    What's a pen pusher?

    Awesome, thank you!
people on TSR will make you think that if you don't do medicine or law or investment banking, you will have failed. That isn't the case, there's so much you can do, chill out, keep researching, and you might make a decision eventually.

Not to mention what another poster said about the other jobs in the NHS, you don't have to go into medicine, there's nursing, pharmacy and other things you might enjoy.

Here's a good website I use. It has lots of info on possible careers and what you need to follow them: https://nextstep.direct.gov.uk/PLANN...s/default.aspx

edit: don't expect to make a final decision yet...

I think it's up to 80&% now. Wasn't there a new syllabus for some your subjects?
For mine there was and it seemed much harder than the old syllabus!
As far as I know there was a new syllabus for geography and French. I always dreaded speaking assignments in French and get all nervous. Geography is actually harder because you study a unit like for a year then you get tested With one exam which is just too much revision and memorising.

    Thanks lol

That's probably because only people with exceptional grades want to broadcast them and the tsr community probably isn't representative of the student population as a whole.

If you're unsure you could always look up entry requirements for different unis and compare them with your predicted grades. Also my (limited) knowledge of applying for medicine is that work experience and your performance in aptitude tests are more important than grades.

I'm only complaining at the people who'd call it 'hard work' and actually don't know what manual labour is

There is a lot more to getting a job, than just grades, trust me.
As ling as you hit the minimum entry requirements, chill.
Yeah and spelling is a part of that. It is "long" not "ling" :teehee:

    don't worry, you'll be fine
...you say that most people get As and A*...i believe you have spent too much time on TSR
remember only 20% of students in each subject get As and 10% A*

your predictions are good and you've chosen very good A-levels, just work as hard as you possibly can and you'll do well... a lot can change in 2 years, when i did my GCSEs my parents also steared me towards medicine, but now after finishing A-levels i still haven't got a clue on what the hell to do with my life and am going off to study biological anthropology in october... my grades would have been good enough for medicine but that doesn't help the fact that i have noo enthusiasm for it whatsoever and therefore wouldn't even get past interviews... your grades will not determine your success, but your motivation will... cultivate some love for something that really interests you and then there will hopefully be nothing to stop you from pursuing it as your career and achieving great success

my step-dad got 2 mediocre a-levels in french and german (i think) 25 or so years ago... he is now a manager earning around 50k with a career completely unrelated to his school achievements... so don't stress))

my final piece of advice for you is to start exploring possible careers/courses right now, otherwise ucas time will become very suffocating and stressful for you... just order a few prospectuses, take some career aptitude tests...

this one is verrryy cooool and was kinda accurate in my opinion:
    http://www.colorwize.com/colorme.asp
(just choose the colour you prefer))...

eeh, i hope i've helped :ahee: and good luck with the future!!!

It didn't go too well. Did you do the 2010 paper (as practice or mock)?

Recent studies have shown that success in life corresponds directly with how well you can aim your digits at a keyboard.

I've done literally every past paper and I complete them less than 30mins and they were pretty easy but this time edexcel was just being an ass. I added a fraction when I was suppose to subtract it and for a translation question I did it left to right when it was suppose to go right to left. Just messed up bad time.
