Yeah, i would look at alternatives. You could take a gap year? or stay on at college? That way you'll have your grades, and can get extra experience, and hopefully then you'll be given an unconditional but that obviously depends on whether you want to prolong it another year?
Aww thanks for the great advice hence the positive rep i gave you.

I just need a tad more help on what to say to the assistant principle when he asks me why i want to do another year at sixth form????
I want to sound serious as a vast majority of people want to do a second year but they dont let them unless something very important etc ????
Also i dont mind doing another year tbh as long as i can get a straight 3 year degree into primary education, i dont think another year would harm me.

nope, i've been rejected from everywhere apart from the CHILDHOOD STUDIES COURSE @ HUDD UNI and am soo confused as to whether to take it on or now and if i'll be able to get onto the pgce later on.....
you could always reject this offer and apply to another primary ed course in extra ( there are quite a few in extra) and see if you get in. do whatever you think is right and im sure it'll work out

Just say it as it is, that you want to re-apply for uni, and you think re-sitting / taking another a-level will help you. And if they don't let you, do you have a local college near by? Because the community college here in Canterbury let anyone of any age do gcse's/alevels etc. So, if need be you could go to one of those and fast track an a-level.and alongside get extra experience in anther primary school, but make notes as you go through the experience - especially because you know what the questions are like in the interviews now!

I've firmed YSJ for 3-7 and I know a few people on TSR have firmed it for 5-11.

Hi, Had my interview back in November and now have my unconditional offer, I'm also specialising in french. There are a couple of things I thought of, I thought of either using a basic vocab book with pictures, or a french baby book. Or get a well known story or tale translated into french. I chose to do the story but I suppose it depends on which year group you were aiming it at.

Good luck, it's a really nice interview dont be nervous!

If you have been rejected for primary look carefully at the critieria-normally on the course website-is the course focused on primary or 3-7...did you tailor your statement, do you have the right predicted points, did you talk enough about your school experience..? You can still apply via UCAS extra I know some courses are still recruiting for BA Primary-Huddersfield do as they have been given extra numbers for getting an Outstanding in all aspects in their Ofsted.. it is not too late but do scrutinise the criteria very hard. Good luck

I don't have any books in french, however I was already considering bringing in a normal story book, however choosing a fairly basic one and explaining how i could then adapt it to a french lesson? Do you think that would be okay?

    Many Thanks x

It can be any kind of book really - doesn't have to link to your specialism, just be prepared for the presentation and make sure you have plenty of tasks you could use it for and maybe even a range of age-groups to aim it at too. Also be prepared for any questions on the tasks you've discussed ect. Good luck
Had my interview 22nd Feb but withdraw my application now as have my firm and insurance choice offers
Do I have to make a presentation before hand? Or by presentation do you mean, me talking about my book and ideas on how to use it to the group?

    Many thanks x

Its really quite laid back, I was so nervous and shouldn't be! You basically arrive and have a talk and get split into groups. Then you go to a room and are round a table wheree you just are given an article and have to write about it just checking you can write properrly and everything (: and then you are called out one by one for 5 minutes literally it stops as soon as 5 mins stops! so chilled, asking about your work experience and stuff! then you go back and all sit round in a circle and everyone takes a few mins to discuss their books and you could link it to your specialism might make you stand out, then everyone has a overall discussion and thats it

with regards to the book, a child's french book may be good as it links back to your specialism but it doesn't have too xx

Also! It says I have to do a presentation is that the task with the book? or is this a different task? do i preplan it or do we do it on the day??
