It's perfectly safe as far as I know. I also understand why you would want to, sometimes you're just exhausted after sex and want to fall asleep, have done it before and it was fine.

Keep in mind, however, that a girl may not want you just falling asleep on top of her, if you ever do any sideways positions then it's a viable option!
