Re: The Official University of Birmingham Freshers 2011 Thread!Thx, you helped me very much, but I need to know whether I can move in before, or after the move-in weekend. I'm moving from Poland and it'll be hard to find any flights to Bham during the weekend....(Original post by lisalilsmartass)
Move in weekend is the 17th/18th of September (there is no benefit to arriving one day or the other it's just to reduce congestion around campus - although you may miss personalised events for your halls of residence is you arrive late). We will find out when exactly for each of us specifically when UoB have completely finished handing out accommodation.
Freshers week is 19th- 25th, then from 26th- 30th there are a couple of introductory lectures but effectively no work, so it is viewed as a second Freshers Week, before we all start on the 1st of October.
Hope that helped
I applied for accommodation somewhere in May, cos I didn't really believe that I'd get here. And Hunter Court was one of my choices, so I'm pretty satisfied.

Re: The Official University of Birmingham Freshers 2011 Thread!Speaking to people on the freshers page on Facebook, everyone's so aggressive(Original post by CreativeBetch)

Re: The Official University of Birmingham Freshers 2011 Thread!firstly, it sounds like you're making a smidge of a rash decision, so i'd sleep on it then decide if i were you(Original post by Antyla)
Does anyone knowww?
secondly, people on the fb group'll be playing up to each other to try to impress people/cover up their nerves, in all likeliness, you'll never meet the mean ones! (if they're even actually mean!)
thirdly, i'd call the university if you're SURE this is what you want but they won't be open at this time so sleep on it!

Re: The Official University of Birmingham Freshers 2011 Thread! You realise that the people posting in the "Freshers thread" on The Student Room are also "aggressive" Birmingham Freshers? Sounds like you're probably saying things like that to rub people up the wrong way, if you think people are "aggressive".(Original post by Antyla)

There's what 400 in that group and how many students overall? -
Re: The Official University of Birmingham Freshers 2011 Thread!Tbh though, that's called life - you're going to find people like that everywhere, but equally there will be a lot at University who aren't like that.(Original post by Antyla)
(on my phone so just going to post this in general to replies) just aggressive like stuck up and rude, sorry I said 'everyone', exaggeration. :/ it just has given me a bad impression of how university will be, people trying to undermine each other etc...
