Would I need a laptop for maths degree?

This may sound like a silly question but would you say for a maths & statistics degree a laptop is essential, or even for going to university in general would you say you need one?

Thanks

Not really if the university has good computing facilities.

If you really want one, get a cheap netbook for your degree.

you wouldnt need one when going into uni.
But it would be handy to have one at home. But aying this, a it isn't essential to get on when travelling into uni, yuo could get away with a desktop.
A lot of the time you will be using programmes on the computer which you will have to buy or get naughtily, and when it comes down to using them it is usually much more simpler doing it at university, ad then you dont have to wait for things to download etc.
No, but having one is good!

I completed a maths degree and I didn't need a laptop. If you are living out, it might be handy to have a laptop but not essential....as long as you have some way of accessing a computer, whether its at uni or at home, you should be fine!
