Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)Your right, its not bad at all, but I was just trying to put things in perspective.(Original post by arianex)
Hey, I worked at a call center too...it's not THAT bad! XD (But well, it's not uni
) I want to give you a big hug right now - can't wait for when we see you next year! :3 Let us know when you decide to crash next time ^^

We had the same thing when alot of my school moved on to sixth form. Loads of my old schoolmates used to complain about the lack of support, low teaching hours, too much spare time etc etc. You get so used to people helping you at every turn that it makes it that much harder to work under your own steam; Its not too easy to adjust(Original post by arianex)
But you're right...if you were spoonfed a lot at school (especially if you came from a private sixth form college - nothing against them, I spent my GCSE and A-level years there) then the self-motivated learning thing may take a while to get used to. You actually have to go up to your lecturer and ask to see them during office hours, et al. (Effort? Zut alors! -mock horror- xD)
Naww hugs to you too(Original post by arianex)

Sooo excited

Problem is I'm up in london alot, but I almost never have time because I'm usually visiting family etc. Be on the lookout though in the new year :PLast edited by ChemAddict; 06-12-2011 at 01:17. -
Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)Oh,I didn't really read through the first posts.Anyway,I applied for biomedical engineering so can you tell me about it?Do you like it?What is the percentage of math, physics and biology involved? Can you give me an example about a project you did or your future plan?Would appreciate the help(Original post by arianex)
Ehehe, my signature holds all my degree info - as well as the fact that it's mentioned on the first post on this thread that I'm a resident advisor as I'm a fresher. Long story short, though, I'm a first-year Biomedical Engineer. :3

Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)awww I hope they'll get back to you soon(Original post by {Unregistered})
And yet I haven't received anything at all.
I am beginning to think that they are sexist.
they got back to me really quickly though, I was surprised. how do you think you did in the exercise? did you manage to solve all 6 questions? they told me I got qn 5 right but my proof wasn't rigorous enough, which I knew
but that's a proof anyway
-
Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)Yes I solved all the questions with perfect (according to my knowledge) proofs except maybe question 4, the one with patterns. I did that one with simple common sense logic rather than a proper mathematical proof.(Original post by desy.kris)

Do they actually give you a full summary of how you did in the exercise? -
Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)ToxicDevil(Original post by Beth1234)
Hello there!
I haven't found a thread for those of us who plan to apply for 2012 yet, so I thought I'd create one. It is, of course, still early days yet (though last years applicant thread was created in May...)!
Discuss courses, AS results, pre-application anxiety, conditional offer anxiety, post-exam anxiety, cakes (
) etc.
Below is a list of 2012 Applicants. Please feel free to add yourself to The Stalking Page as well.
If you want to be on "The List" quote this post with:
Username: [your username]
Subject: [the subject you're applying for]
(If you do change your mind and want to be taken off "The List", let me know!)
Courtesy of arianex, below is a list of 'advisors' who have contributed to the thread in many ways
If you have any questions, just quote or PM them, and I'm sure they'll be happy to help!
And finally, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

-
Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)Do they interview biology for sure?(Original post by Ryan416)
I've had an offer for Biology. I am studying for the IB diploma, my offer is 38 with 6s in higher level chemistry and biology

Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)Don't think they do(Original post by Student666)
Do they interview biology for sure? -
Re: Official Imperial Applicants Thread (2012 Entry)mmmk... no, actually I requested for some general feedback and specifically asked about question 5 and that's it. so they said I did very well and got qn 5 right although the proof wasn't rigorous. I'm quite sure I got the other questions right so I didn't ask(Original post by {Unregistered})
