Yes. I posted as I got a pretty strange e-mail a day or so after applying and wondered how many people got the same one.
SWIP grad programme based in Scotland?

To be honest I'm not that confident as I also have the complication of being abroad so won't be able to attend assessment centres unless they can hold them in Beijing.
I'm in the same position as you; I'm in Japan. Do you have any more information about what banks' policies are on this?

Anyone know if I can apply for Singapore office from London?

How about Indonesia? I can speak Malay (kinda similar) so working in Indonesia would be awesome.

I haven't got round to asking and/or applying yet (I've been busy moving from HK to Beijing), but I'll post back here if I get any info.

Any idea how to apply for secondary positions for Citi?

Somehow once I started my application I cannot find an option to choose a second position. I also can't find the application allowance as well (ie how many max business areas/locations we can apply). Can someone kindly enlighten me please?

It is difficult to compare them. BarCap took 450 interns and if Wealth are anything like last year they took about 25.

I don't really have many concrete numbers on conversion at BarCap this summer only what I've heard from other grads abouts the interns on their desks.

Ah Thanks . Im interested in market based roles and don't mind trying out anything along the lines of equity research/asset management/ wealth management. However from everything I have read so far there don't seem to be many hires in these depts. Any thoughts on which areas are currently looking at hiring grads more than others?

Last year was tough enough. This year will be even tougher. Those of you that have work exp, strong academics from a top uni and connections will probably get to the latter stages at most banks.

To the rest - it's looking grim. But is working for a bulge bracket a good idea these days? You'll have to think of your exit strategy from day one - you don't want to be made redundant after the graduate programme has been completed and sit around looking for work- you should have connections and contacts all around the city.

    Good luck.

    Hi guys,

I applied for trading at RBS and got invited to online logical reasoning test. Is this test similar to the UBS one? Has anyone done citi numerical yet?

Re: OFFICIAL: 2012 Graduate Scheme Applications
    Just to update you guys:

I have called Barcap & GS and was told:

Barcap - highly unlikely to hire outside of their internship programme for 2012 candidates
GS - will finalise offers and therefore available headcount by late next week but from tonality, I assumed there would be little left.

GS also said that they don't take on interns outside of their penultimate year unless they are looking to study an MSc. (this is frustrating for those of us who can't apply and are doing the final year of their MSc, surely exceptions should be made?!)

    BTW if anyone knows:

    1) when the CS graduate recruitment scheme starts in 2012 (ie - early summer or sept)
    2) an email address for GS HR to update my CV

    I would appreciate it.
