Which would you find more difficult: living alone in a studio, so maybe having to make more of an effort to socialise; or sharing a kitchen with other people (which will probably be messy at least some of the time)? Do you have your-actual, diagnosed OCD, or are you just saying that you'd rather live in a tidy environment? I do know someone with OCD who found living in a flat a bit hard work sometimes, and living in a studio worked better for them, but the balance really depends on how you'll feel either way.
Thanks for your reply. To be honest I'm pretty sure I have a minor OCD although I wasn't actually diagnosed. I was warned to get it diagnosed but I don't think there's a need of it anyway. But still I rather live in a clean surrounding. Zzz basically I'll be choosing the former one. I guess there might be other ways to socialise. x_X

Maybe this is the accommodation open to current students..?
Because it does say that accommodation for new students opens on the 16th April

EDIT: Don't know if you're a PCMD student or not but we only get two options that are self catered: Rowancroft and Rowancroft Mews.

It's not supposed to be open until tomorrow, so if you can access it now, it's probably as the wrong type of student (e.g. it's probably showing you what'a available to returning students, not new students). I'd wait until it's open properly and see how it looks then.

If you're looking for decent private/student accommodation that's all inclusive and reasonably priced then consider Exeter Trust House on Blackboy Road which is conveniently located for the St Luke's Campus, Medical School, City Centre and a short walk about 15 minutes from Streatham campus or quicker if you cycle. There's also a friendly black and white cat who lives in the housing block opposite who's always resting on the wall inside the Trust House yard so if ever you're feeling down and sad go and say hello to him and he'll be happy to shower you with meows, purrs and rubs as long as you give him strokes and cuddles in return ^^

Yeah the accommodation PCMD hands out is a little drab tbh even though it is spitting distance from Wonford, Heavitree and St Luke's but Exeter Trust House where I used to haunt was pretty close by or a short pleasant walk. The park nearby was great too. Nice area.

Really depends on what people's choices are, and what everyone else's choices are!

The one thing I'd say in this case is, the places you're proposing to put are all relatively small (there's, what, 60-something single standard rooms in those if you add them all together; and then 70-something people in twins?) Obviously not everyone will apply for there, but given that it's not a huge number of rooms overall (and the website says they get three applications per room), I wouldn't absolutely set your heart on getting what you're after.
    Thank you for your help

I've just sent off my application, so fingers crossed! The only thing is that we have to wait until August to find out what we have (that's presuming we get in...)

Filling out application now, put Lafrowda, Rowe House and St. Germans Bit worried as judging from the discussions on tsr these all seem like popular choices!

Not sure what to put for the "Which factor is more important: cost, standard of residence, contract length, location of residence, others I am living with..." I want to put location but cost is a big issue... Also, it lets you tick more than one but obviously the question implies they want you to pick one, has anyone been cheeky and chosen more than one?

    EDIT: Never mind, chose Location!

GUYS: any advice would be appreciated. I'm trying to decide what accommodation to go for and I can't decide between en-suite and non en-suite. Obviously non en-suite is cheaper and my budget isn't exactly unlimited, but I really hate the idea of not having my own toilet.

I hate to sound like a massive prude but is it not REALLY awkward having to share toilets with people you're not related to? (that prob sounds really stupid butttttt oh well)

Economics which is why I want to be this side of campus! The Business School is next door! Frist is Lafrowda but not decided on the way round of 2/3 choice. St germans and Rowe seem pretty similar from my quick scan of the website.

It's really NOT awkward having to share a bathroom. And they get cleaned twice a week, so are pretty clean all the time. I shared two toilets and a shower between 12 people in the old Lafrowda. Never once had an issue with mess or having to wait ages.

I graduated in 2010 so as I said, I lived in the very old standard Lafrowda. However yes I think the flats are mixed sex unless you request otherwise. I loved Lafrowda, it was great fun
