Can anyone tell me what ambiguous and unambiguous means, i.e. regarding conformity studies in psychology, cos the book just presumes I know what it's talking about,

ambigious means that its a simple study, easy, not difficult to do
unambigious means that it is more comlpex, harder to understand (sherif, how you know how much light moved, look to other people for guidance)
