    Nato
The Cold War is over! The Soviet Union collapsed and the Warsaw Pact was disbanded. That should've been the end of the story for NATO, as its raison d'etre was gone.

At this point NATO is just a tool for the US, as a way of getting around the UN.

The argument that the Afghan mission is a test of NATO's relevance is bull****. If anything, when the Afghan mission fails, it will simply be another nail in NATO's coffin

P.s even though im from USA i hate nato

Good for you, but more military cooperation between nations is a good thing. The cold war between the USSR and West may be over but an emerging China and to a much lesser extent Russia require a counter balance.

It may be that china is the emerging counter balance to the us. The us exerts too much control over other countries.
It would be nice if NATO did purely exist for military cooperation.

So does CHina though, China is just far less obvious about it. Some of the things they are doing in countries is just plain disgusting. Promising Infrastructure in return for oil contracts then doing absolutely nothing and sucking the country dry of cash

Sure NATO is about the future not just the past. As in future threats to the west

No they really aren't. Go look at what China is currently doing in Angola. They buy piss cheap oil in return for infrastructure that they never build
