    Hey guys

Congratulations to those who were successful. I also got through- so guess I'll see you all in October.

Good luck to anyone still waiting.

    Congrats all

Nailed it too. Many logistical challenges to surmount before October, but look forwards to meeting all then.

    Cheers

Still no news on TiB. I rang them yesterday and they said that they'd chased up the people marking it and were told they were working on it, so just wait and refresh I guess...

thanks for ringing and letting us know; I suppose believing in the "two weeks from fsb" was perhaps overly idealistic!

Well I'd been trying to resist, but then I took my girls to the park after school as the weather was so nice and had nothing else to do whilst sitting on the bench shielding my eyes from the sun whilst they mucked about on the swings, slides and spinny hold on roundabout thingy...

But yes, they did say that hopefully the results would be out by the end of the week, but confirmed that they get the results from whoever are marking them and then upload them. So it could be tomorrow, it could be next monday they aren't really in any position to know firmly as they're not the people making the decisions...

I'm anticipating it could be up to two weeks from the last FSB. Still hasn't stopped me from checking several times a day

Congrats to those who were successful at FCO FSBs (and commiserations to those who were not :{ )

According to the Cabinet office (who know more than parity) the results are going through the control procedures, and are with a particular team with a responsibility in this regard. 'later this week' is realistic, and it won't be longer than next Tuesday.

To the claims that there are 34 places, that is not set in stone. The places are still being negotiated. One can infer that a number of positions are certain, but the final number isn't. Since results will be published before the number of vacancies are fixed, one can thus infer there would likely be a reserve list this year again.

Well less than a week now, worst case scenario. It would be nice if a message similar to your very informative post was put up on the fast stream webpage, but I guess it's a busy time of year.

Well done for everyone passing so far =),
for the Generalist CD - for those near the 17.4 mark, I was told we are likely to know our placement in June, so perhaps May for those we did better!

Congrats to those who passed for the FCO. Anyone else on the EFS and waiting for their placement?

Any ideas which depts are likely to be recruiting EFSers?

For 17.6 it's the beginning of June for Generalists to hear back about placements

I'm still waiting to hear the results of the final sift, did you hear anything yet? I can't really believe we might have to wait until mid-May...I'm not sure which depts will be taking EFSers on but the usual suspects seem to be DEFRA, Business, Innovation and Skills and I guess a few others! I don't think we get to give preferences though .

You don't get to select a preference for a department but cabinet office said you will be asked to say which area you would like to work in e.g. Environment, Transport, International development etc. Then, when they're assigning, the team will look at candidate preferences and background and the number of posts available in departments wanting EFSers. Same email said that the sift would be 'beginning of May, or after the FCO results'. Good luck.

TiB results out and unsuccessful, absolutely gutted Compounded by the fact that I met the GFS pass score, but failed at an earlier stage. I'll have to read the feedback, but I honestly don't know what else I could have done at the FSB other than time my presentation better. I really hope the predicted numbers posted earlier weren't right, or I'm going to feel worse.

    Hi all,
I am new here and have just got an offer from FCO. I am doing a PhD and have recently realised that I won't be finished by October, and would like to defer for a year, but would deferral be possible at this late stage? If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks:-)
