There is a word document which more or less explains.
Go here http://www.manchester.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/search2012/atoz/course/?code=01428&pg=4 and then you will find word doc about how they deal with applications, there they talk about UKCAT
Ok Manchester has definitely pushed itself to #1 in my maybe list after doing more research

Do you think a ukcat of 637.5 is good enough for manc? Somehow I think it isn't :sigh:

I'm applying in 2013, but I emailed and apparently if you use MAP (Manchester Access Programme, http://www.manchester.ac.uk/undergraduate/schoolsandcolleges/post-16/map/)) your UKCAT is not used in your application, plus your guaranteed an interview and a lower offer of ABB. Oh and if you have a overall contextual data flag, the UKCAT is usually lower. HTH
Anyone know any special experience required?

What is the overall contextual flag, if you don't mind me asking?
I am from a poor area, very poor school and low family income, does this have anything to do with that flag?
Thanks a lot:smile:

Do Manchester have a UKCAT cut off?

Yes, once they have checked an applicant meets entry requirements, and that their personal statement is up to scratch, all applicants are ranked by UKCAT for interview IIRC. Last year's cut off was 645
