Hi there! I shouldn't be on this forum anymore () but I applied to Bath too!

What day was your interview? Mine was on the 13th of March and got my offer a week later? Was your offer AAB too??

Bath is a really nice uni i gotta admit, but I liked UEA alot .

Did you apply to UEA too? What were your other choices?

    Cheers in advance !
Well, actually I have thought applying to UEA but then I've prefered to apply to Nottingham instead of UEA.

My other choices were Reading, Manchester and Brighton. ( also Nottingham as I said before )

I have chosen Bath as my first choice and Reading as insurance. ( I didn't choose Nottingham because they were the only one who invited me for an interview. As I dont live in the UK, it will be difficult to come for only one interview... So they withdrawn my application xD )

So will UEA be your firm choice ? and what will be your insurance?

Where else did you apply to ?

I most probably get an A* in maths, A in biology and A/B in chemistry ( probably B ).

Haha, I have been there only for visiting my brother's girl friend. I haven't visited the university but I know how beautiful the town is.

Wow, I haven't checked out this page before, the lab looks like very nice.

yeah its cool, what country are you from by the way?

Yeah the interviews are so tiring, all the travelling and costs are annoying.

I live in London and I've taken into account everything when picking UEA and Bath for my firm. Bath cost me 40 pounds to and from london and that was with my student discount included. With UEA, it only costs me 10 pounds to and from london which is such a massive saving!

But yeah Reading is close to me, about 20 minutes from London Paddington Station so it's all good

    I am from North Cyprus.

Wow it's necessary to consider everything before making a decision.

I didn't know that UEA is closer to London than Bath.

How lucky you are, I have to travel from Cyprus to London (then to university...)

    No no nooo!!

Bath is closer to London than Norwich (UEA), It just happens to be that the train fares are more expensive to bath than Norwich. This is because these regions of England are served by different train companies, hence the prices will vary alot! + im probably gonna head back to london every fortnight to see my parents xD

Yeah Cyprus is nice, got a couple of mates that come from there!

What made you like England so much? Was it the standard of university education or are there few schools of pharmacy in Cyprus?

Aahh, I see XD My uncle and cousins live in Greenwich and my brother studies master's degree at UCL so I often come to England.

It's true that the standard of university education is higher in the UK but the main reason is I want to stand on my own two feet, away from my parents, experiencing the real life. Also, if I stay in Cyprus and study here, I can not improve my english.

Making new friends from different cultures is one of the other reasons too..

ah yes, being independent is something really important that everyone needs to experience in life. I could easily have applied for London School of Pharmacy (UCL) or Kings College but I wanted something a little away from my parents....

Does anyone know about whether or not URB has facilities available to be able to learn how to DJ/create mixes and possibly promote their students to clubs around Bath like Bristol? Just considering this incase everyone else is miles better than me in football

Also to current Bath students, have you ever felt bored in campus or around town? Is there something always to do?

Certainly would be nice to keep me occupied and could be a potential job if things work out

Yeah, I'm hoping they could use a pretty fast winger

There's a DJ class once a week on campus run by the ICIA (theatre), taught by an actual DJ (I went for 7 weeks and dropped out, everyone else took it way more seriously, one girl splashed out £800 on her own decks) - the guy says the aim at the end of the first 10 week course is to get people a DJ slot in a club, or at least perform to the group. The Music Soc also runs electronic music production classes.
