The ticket bundles are ideal for first year- you wont go into town enough to warrant a full pass. All we went into town for this year were nights out, cinema and the odd excursion at weekends.(Original post by RibenaRockstar)
What kind of bus pass do people usually get during first year? I was thinking about just getting one of those bundles of tickets as I'm not sure I'll actually go into town much - do people?

:O can someone explain this to me?? I have an Pol with Econ offer but I'm a tiny bit worried about grades...x(Original post by RibenaRockstar)
After results come out.
Also, for anyone on Politics with Economics (and by extension Pol with IR), just thought you'd like to know that our course is available in Extra, which bodes well for slipped grades.

Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!Basically, they haven't yet filled the spaces on the course. This means that if all the spaces still aren't full on results day, and someone slips a grade, they may be lenient.(Original post by Bantersaurus Rexx)

I just want them nowwwwwww -
Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!N'aww aren't you sweet
Trust me, I want my results as much as you do! The problem is that finishing exams has freed up so much time, so we need a distraction to keep our mind off things.... just imagine those lovely A and A* grades, good things come to those who wait
-
Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!Do you need A*AA too? What subject? Tell me about yourself!(Original post by foolscap)

I know! I have soooooo much time, it's actually unreal. I am so bored that all I'm doing is reading last years results thread! So bad!
Hahaha, yes I can dream about those grades

Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!Yep I need A*AA for my maths offer, I did my maths exams in January so I already have the A*, just need AA in further maths and either economics or computing. I'm feeling optimistic that I've got some more A*s on the way, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much, or jinx it(Original post by fionalala12)

As for telling you about myself.....I will have my 18th birthday 3 days after results so the wait is even more intense, and I stay on my laptop too late at night (so I can stalk threads like this one)
Your turn! Tell me all about yourself
Hah I bet that's a good read, think I might have to find last years thread and go to results day - I've already got this years results thread bookmarked, I see you posting on it
-
Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!Oooooh you lucky thing! Must be a bit of relief getting that A* out the way. I really hope you achieve the grades you need, you're obviously very clever. You're doing subjects I wouldn't ever DREAM of doing! I'm hoping to get an A* in Psychology; I did for the January module (well the silly examiner gave me a B, got a remark and it went up to an A*). I need an A in R.S and English Lit (dreaaaaaming). We will see, I don't think I'll get the results.(Original post by foolscap)

Awwh you're a young one! I had my 18th in September! Well... hmm.. I also do a lot of stalking of threads (we should definitely stay up before results day) and I love music. I have my own choir and everything which will kill me to say goodbye too!
Ooooh been stalking me too i see
I haven't seen you're name around!

Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!
Any older non - mature students about or anyone else joining the Social Science department? Just had my 20th birthday and will feel very old amongst the first years!
Had to visit Bath today to show identification and pay for a CRB check (I'm doing BSc Social Work), it was a very strange feeling to think I'll be one of the students wandering around the campus come September! -
Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!Yeah it's probably the reason I'm feeling confident-ish about these results, A*s are great you should get one!(Original post by fionalala12)

Aww you flatter me
babe I really hope you get the grades you need as well, keep dreaming of those A's, and dream big, it's good to have ambition! That re-mark is insane, very silly examiner and hopefully that won't happen again on your final psych exam, but if you got an A* score in january then have confidence in yourself and think positive, cos you're clever
mmm I'll be an excitable wreck the night before results, I'll definitely be on here alot! Ya we should defo stay up, I doubt I'd get much sleep anyhow...
Woah you've got your own choir, get you. It'll be hard leaving our current lives behind to head off to uni but so worth it! -

Don't be silly, you'll be able to get into Bath definately. Thank you so much. That's made me feel a lot better about myself! I'm just hoping I didn't muck up too much overall. Taking 4 a levels has been the bane of my life!
But... really. You should have faith in yourself too- if you have confidence that means I may be slightly confident too!
Oh me too, I won't be able to sleep in the slightest, so I'll be on here! We can get through the night together or something playing iSketch!
Thankyou, I love my choir- soooo much! It will be worth it! I do hope we both get in- it would be good to say hello! -
Re: Bath 2012 Applicants thread!I'm 20 too, but I'm not doing social work though. Just to reassure you that you're not the only "oldie" around.(Original post by dan_oufc)
