Downloaded Terminal yesterday. I loved it in MW2, so fast and furious and suitable for every type of player, just have to be in the right place on the map. Getting the AC130 or chopper gunner on Terminal those were they days

I'm still rubbish with using the AC-130 in MW3 at least. I've never earned it on maps with plenty of open space, like Village and Interchange though. Think I'll choose the Pave Low instead since it doesn't take me out of the game, even though it is more easily brought down. Maps like Dome allow the Pave Low to rip opponents to shreds though.

Let me know how Terminal plays. I've played it in MW2, it wasn't my favourite map but it wasn't my least favourite either. Never understood why it was popular though. I suppose a camper in the plane is looking to hijack crate awards. If so may be I'd be tempted to use support killstreak and lure them into opening a booby trapped crate, especially as a winning killcam for the lulz.

Oh, what setup do you use for the MSR? Seen a video of yours and wondering how you do it. I'm levelling mine up soon and have Sleight of Hand, Quickdraw and Marksman (all pro) with a specialist strike package of SitRep, Scavenger, Blind Eye (all pro). The Dragunov got a buff so I might try that as well but I can see it taking an age unlocking stability proficiency just for the MSR let alone the Dragunov too. Unless I use them in every single game, which is a bit silly. Plus I'll be wearing the gold camo on the L86 when I eventually get it as I've never been in a match with a gold one before.

Yeah I will do. I quite liked terminal, most of the maps were pretty good on MW2 though. The large snow one was the only one I can remember being really bad.

For all snipers I always run quickdraw, extended mags and speed. Usually with Sleight of hand and Steady Aim as well, but any from the 1st and 3rd tier are decent choices. I wouldn't bother with the Dragunov though, the pre patched version anyway was probably the worst gun on the game.

You mean Derail? That was one of the greatest maps. I used to be a dick though and sit in the main building with a ACR and a SPAS so easy to get the kill streaks going, that or sit in the warehouse with the sniper and pick people off.

My all time best game was on Wasteland, got the chopper gunner and spawn trapped the other team in the far corner where the helicopter was. It was genocide

Cheers. I might run a near-duplicate class with SitRep Pro as tier 3. I run specialist with snipers so then I could perhaps put Marksman Pro as a pointstreak. I swear I increase my chances of a hitmarker when holding breath.

Heh. And that was the gun that got me the two longest snipes I've ever had in the whole game in Bakaara. Both of which were probably, if not more than, half the length of the map. I've seen one golden Dragunov in a game where I was spectating so I might see how it feels. It just had too much recoil for me so I was always crouching or prone with it. I now have Range proficiency with the Striker so I might as well try another weapon.

I used the chopper gunner in Black Ops on Jungle. Needless to say it was devastating. That's why I tried getting Ghost Pro a while ago but I never unlocked the Strela-3 in time before the XP promotion finished.
Got a load of mediocre killstreaks on Terminal. :frown: I don't enjoy it half as much as I enjoyed it on MW2 and it breaks my heart to see everyone in the lobby vote for Terminal against Mission (IMO the best map of MW3 including DLC.)

Anyways anyone up for some party fun on XBL?

what dlc map pack would you say is the best?
I don't like any of the DLC map packs (Too much money) and the stock maps are just as good but I liked DLC 1 the best.

Whats your GT then? If you rather PM it, quote me on this, and I'll allow PMs. There are a fair few people outside of the gaming section I rather not receive PMs from. Did think about creating a dupe just for gaming but I thought it would be overkill.

Out of all the maps I prefer a lot of COD4 and Black Ops than the MW3 ones. I like the look of Oasis though. A pity Downturn is overly grey because I'd probably be able to play it more often. Sure, it takes too much time to kill enemy players for some people, but it's the most realistic map for a war torn area. And I can work on the MK14 as I wouldn't mind unlocking gold camo for that gun.

Tried it out in private mode and it appears to be a great weapon. Stability proficiency and thermal/variable zoom would be awesome. I can be quick enough with it without the Speed proficiency tbh.
Bought MW3 on Mon (first time I've turned on my PS3 since November time last year...) ... completed the storyline with ease. Then went online, first game (TDM) I joined my team was getting dominated I got 3 kills 4 deaths... second game; I destroy the other team; coming first by miles :colone:

People seem to use grenades a lot more than on MW2 and Black Ops. Whilst FAL's (I think they are FAL's... single shot assault rifle, if FAL's aren't on the game) seem really over powered :s-smilie:

That said I'm loving MW3

Everything is overpowered these days. Are you referring to my beloved MK14? You might be thinking of a three burst rifle, the Type 95. The MK14 is much less common as it is not as good as the Type 95 for closer range combat. I use the L86 mainly, which is an LMG. Sacrificing mobility and some time to reload for mowing down players, and more mowing, and more...

Speaking of Black Ops, I haven't got the Strela-3 so I might just run SAM Turrets with Hardline (Pro) activated so I can stack them up so if someone calls in the Chopper Gunner and/or Gunship they're toast. Would be some kind of wummage.
Thanks guys it's the Mk14 :top: ... I keep getting owned by them

Another thing that surprises me is that people on MW2 are either very good... or atrocious; very few in between!! I only played for a short stint today and the couple of games I was in (new maps that I haven't played before and can't remember the name of) my team was either absolute dominant in TDM, one match we got the 7500, and the other team got 2200  Another game our team was dominated, losing by 2500 points, strange!! Also teams stick together a lot, which means multi kills are very frequent indeed.... final point; why are there so many snipers?!?!?! So many it's ridiculous!!

Red dot sight M4A1 is fantastic :colone: However as you say NDGAARONDI; everything is over powered!!
Playing S&D with randoms gets so annoying. Always end up on a team with no idea of what you're supposed to be doing. They can't seem to realise the point is you attack the target on attack and defend it on defence. You get so many people camping at the back till time runs out on attack or rushing and dying within 15 seconds on defence. Or people rush planting when the other team has the numerical advantage.

I used to love S&D, haven't played it since MW2 where I did some gamebattles. It's all about tactics and strategy, no other gametype comes close except maybe for CTF when played properly.

Stock up on the ballistic vests and/or use Assassin Pro. Chances are you're coming across people who can actually use the MK14. If you keep being killed by them it is quite natural to think they are overpowered but I've won gunfights I really shouldn't have for various weapons because the opponent doesn't know how best to use the gun. Wait until you're spammed by a Barrett though. I believe it can rack up the same fire rate as the MK14 whilst giving you more mobility whilst prone than the MK14. I was killed by a Barrett user last week and thought he was awesome in Fallen (I was in that main house) and watched the killcam and it took his 6th shot to get me. The other shots weren't even making the window, let alone getting me so it was fire and hope. He even knew where I was going to spawn from so I gave him a headshot with the Type 95 as I ran out of that corner where the bench is. Some people say the ACR and MP7 are overpowered as well, neither I've used in the last few weeks.

Losing by 2500 points I wouldn't say is being dominated as such but that's just me. It's easier to make a large gap in TDM in MW3 than Black Ops in my experience.

In MW2 I hear you get a lot of quickscopers but I've not played it much. I'd say sniper rifle usage is more fairer in MW3 given than for best use you have to use Sleight of Hand, Quickdraw, and Marksman. Given the popularity and how easily you can gain Assassin Pro, Marksman pro version is often negated, and the maps aren't really that kind to snipers and you need a lot of kills to gain full proficiency. So, unless you're using the specialist strike package, you will lose potential benefits from Assassin Pro and Blind Eye Pro. Not everyone is happy to give up their precious killstreaks, although I don't mind personally.

Speaking of killstreaks, you'd better get used to Reaper/AC-130 combos soon or teammates relying on good luck on the random care package, only to have a juicy reward hijacked by the enemy (like a Reaper). It's why I hardly use crate awards in MW3. I am looking forward to do the day when a Blind Eye Pro/Assassin Pro/Dead Silence Pro + silencer opponent tries stealing a team mates crate only for me to slam the door in his face since I use SitRep Pro. I'm much happier to use crate awarded killstreaks in Black Ops though. Less chance of hijacks, SAM turrets are more powerful, sometimes I use the random care package as bait hoping it's not something really good (basically CG and Gunship), and the Sentry Guns usually grind a few kills because Ghost Pro users, who are immune from Sentry Guns, tend to be campers rather than those who run and gun. You'd think they'd look at the HUD....

Rush planting? I took the bomb in Lockdown as the Spetsnaz because nobody else wanted it (find that a bit odd) and ran to plant A then camped in the alley way knowing full well I'd be the last one alive in my side with only a minute gone. The technique worked. Is that rush planting? Unfortunately I didn't have SitRep Pro then so I might give it a try with a few friends as a team together now that I've unlocked it. Wondering how long it will take for a DSP user to accuse me of being a soundwhore then.
Rush planting is just running to a site and literally planting straight away. It can be really effective if you're in a party and all know the plan but when someone does it by themselves and nobody else is moving forward 90% of the time they die and it gets defused within like 20 seconds. Best maps for it are the site in the plane on Afghan, the site that isn't inside on Estate and the inside site on Underpass. I'm not sure on MW3, I haven't really played S&D on that yet.

Ah. I rush plant when I know how everyone will play. In Lockdown everyone rushes to the corridor just like in TDM. There's quite a bit of predictability in players strategies in each game mode I've played in and across all the editions of COD I've played too. I found Strike terrible for easy guessing enemy actions in COD4 in TDM and Domination. I liked the map, not so much in MW2 too. They altered it too much.
