Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!
hey guys
recently i got my fifth and final offer from Coventry!!
So that means ive got Bournemouth, Southampton Solent, Canterbury Christchurch and Worcester too
Anyone else got those offers??? And does anyone have an offer from Bournemouth and Southampton Solent? They were both soo good but have different grades and I dont know which to choose for my first choice!! I think it will have to be Bournemouth but is anyone in the same boat?
Also please have a look at my blog and follow if you have one too!

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!Thats so weird!! Because your grades ARE taken from their entry requirements so I find that exceedingly odd that they didn't want either of us from the grades or experience point of view... Im really curious as to whos actually got accepted to Portsmouth?!(Original post by Anthony93)
Hmmmm! I totally agree with you! They do say that experience is necessary now though. I had to submit a test for Portsmouth to study the single honours Journalism course. I have had experience in two local newspapers, which I submitted with the test, but I still have no offer. However, your predicted grades are far superior to mine, as I will only get BBB probably. Seems like experience takes preference over grades :/ -
Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!Yeah! Well I am still waiting to hear news from them, not heard anything yet, but I did submit a test(Original post by Fruitcake_OX)

I only know one person on here who has been accepted so far with an unconditional offer because she already has her A2 results from last year.. Deadline for UCAS has passed now, so I guess they have been waiting for everyones applications

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!Im so excited! I have also got offers from Leeds Met, another media course at Nottingham and waiting to hear from Lincoln, how about you?(Original post by BeckyD)
Eeek well done! Maybe see you there next year!
Where else have you applied?

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!
I didn't want to go there anyway but thought I'd mention that I also applied to Portsmouth (predicted grades of ABBB) and got a rejection from the BA Journalism course. They instead offered me Journalism with English Language, and when I asked for feedback as to why I hadn't got an offer for the single honours they just said that they couldn't give detailed feedback due to the high number of applications recieved.

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!
Hi everyone, new member here.
I've applied for the BA Journalism course at the university of Sunderland, Northumbria, Leeds Met and Salford. My favourite is Salford, by a mile. I've really set my heart on the place.
Thing is, guess the uni I'm still waiting for a reply from? Salford! I've decided that Northumbria is my insurance offer, but Salford really is my first choice.
Would you guys say that a lot of people are applying to Salford this year (because of the BBC being so close?) Also, do you think it's too late for me to get in there now? I sent my UCAS on 14th December and I'm just starting to worry now... -

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!Definitely won't be too late as the UCAS deadline has just gone (in January), and a lot of unis don't even consider applicants until the deadline has passed. Even if Salford have been giving offers out, you applied before the deadline so I think they have to at least consider you!(Original post by Joshuah)

I think more people will be applying to Salford due to the media city, that's if they're well informed
Some might still think London is the hub of the BBC, who knows.
Good luck

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!Don't worry, I sent my form off a month before you, but I only heard back from them at the end of December... They haven't completed looking at everyone's and they had interviews this week, some next week and then some in Feb and March(Original post by Joshuah)

I'm really unsure about whether I want to go to Leeds Uni or Salford... MediaCityUK looks ah-may-zing! -

Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!
I've got conditional offers for Portsmouth and Sunderland.
The offer from Portsmouth is to do Journalism and the offer from Sunderland is to do Fashion Journalism.
I SERIOUSLY cannot decide which one to go to! There pros and cons seem to equal out for both.
I am really interested in fashion but I'm not sure if it is what I want to do as a career. I dont know whether I should choose fashion because I enjoy it or single honours journalism because it will give me more options.
Help anyone?! -
Re: Applying for BA Journalism 2012 Entry?!I think unless you're 100% sure you want to spend your life in fashion journalism then you should steer away from such a specific course. Just my advice!(Original post by beealex)

Nah, but seriously, Portsmouth. The journalism course is supposedly above the likes of the Bournemouth course (which is renown for being a top media uni) and not to mention, you're seriously limiting yourself with fashion journalism. Don't forget they have "major projects" (according to the Portsmouth website anyway) where you can centre your project around fashion or whatever interests you

well chuffed! anyone else hear anything?
