1 minute after the exam- excellently
2 hours after the exam- average
    now- terrible
I'm still hanging on to the hope that it went averagely.

I wouldn't say that's the case. Unless they told him that explicitly in writing, I would not trust that factoid at all. Lots of people here have taken jan modules and got in. There were probably elements of his application that let him down.

Edit: If he was rejected straight away, there is also an incredibly good chance that there was something seriously wrong with his application - he might not have met the minimum requirements or had incomplete data somewhere. But there is definitely absolutely no basis for somebody being rejected solely for doing Jan modules - and even if that was the basis of rejection, it definitely would not happen immediately.
yea i had a friend with similar situation. He got rejected cos he took jan exams early, but only took 3 alevels

That's me too. I was aiming for 7, after the exam would be happy with a 6. Now i'm begging for a 5 and a chance for interview

It is quite funny how when something dwells on your mind, it gradually gets worse. I have tried to forget about it... athough not very well.

Does he have proof of them explicitly saying this was the deciding factor for his rejection in writing? There are lots of people here in my year who took 3 A2 subjects and sat January modules, despite the recommendation being in place. Unless they stated this as the reason, I remain very doubtful of the medical school doing rejections on such an arbitrary basis. However, if by "3 a levels" you mean, he only took 3AS and 3A2 subjects, then he would have been rejected on those grounds as minimum conditions for entry (alongside the B in GCSE Eng Lang.) is 3 A2 subjects and a pass (E grade or better) in a 4th AS subject.

Ok good, that's what I thought. Wouldn't want to wait any longer, despite having waited painfully for 3 weeks.

Ahh yeah true... That always happens... DOH!
