Yep, E in the exam, A in the coursework so got a C overall, should have got an A, massive uproar at my school, it seems we are all in the same boat.
I got exactly the same, except I got a D overall!!( 2 marks off a C).... am awaiting a remark as there is no way I deserved an E!!, in fact I only narrowly scraped an E!!

My teacher said that she thought the examiner must have been drunk:eek:

I got 4/21 on one paper!!...I've always got A's in my work and my Mock...to say I was devastated on results day was an understatement!

My paper has gone back with some others as the whole year group did badly and I think if our marks go up then the other papers go back as well (not really sure)

Same, its not right that we are now expected to retake, eurgh more work, more pressure, you can't trust these examiners one bit.

Got my remark back today....didn't go up by a single mark and neither did any of the others that went back....my teacher actually cried when she told me!!...she said she thinks AQA are too embarrassed to admit they've made a massive mistake....anyway here's to retakes and maybe a gap year

Sorry to hear that, the exam board is like the mafia. One of my friends met her Lit teacher in Waitrose the other day, so in the whatever food aisle, the teacher was repeatedly saying sorry for my friend's marks. It's a complete mess, totally lost faith in the teaching at my school and the whole education system. I might have to take a gap year too although I'm not keen, I tend to forget things quite easily.

B in the exam (3 marks off an A).

Then a D and A in the two pieces of C/W, which I was too lazy to redraft and will be retaking. Got a B overall although hopefully I'll bump that up to an A this year.

Most people in my class did worse than expected (AQA board). People getting A's in coursework got E's in the exam... In contrast, I managed to get an A in the Edam despite feeling it had gone horribly.

It's crazy how subjective and varied the marking can be...

I received an A in the CW but got a really low E in my exam, I was gutted and confused to say the least.

I know it's a bit late to still be talking about this, but to be honest it's been eating me up. I was all set to do English at university as long as my prediction of an A at AS came through...

However, I got a D in the exam. My coursework (which was an A) bumped up my overall mark to a C. I know that lots of people would be glad just to have passed, but I had my eye on top 10 universities. Now it seems out of reach.

I read a few articles about this exam's results - lots of people did much worse than was expected of them. I'm wondering whether anyone else, like me, had completely contrasting exam and coursework marks.

Feel free to post anonymously, if you don't want to publicly share your marks.

P.S. the coursework was worth 40% of the overall grade/mark
I got a B in the course work and a D in the exam, so i got overall a C, so i'm retaking the exam in january

    Interesting...

I had a B for my courseworks but the exam didn't go too well and ended up getting an E, which brought my overall English Lit grade down to a D.
I'm in the exact same boat...except, I thought my c/w was a B, and then found on results day it got marked down to a C. fml

Sent off for a remark... A in the CW, D in the exam so I'm hoping it goes up. It's just weird because, not in a mean way, but people consistently getting Cs in my class ended up with Bs in the exam, and although I don't doubt them having really deserved that, it's just disheartening when you've been working at an A and everything seems to have screwed up. Just fingers crossed it goes up. If all the ones that my school have sent off go up, then they're going to appeal so I hope that for my class's sake things go okay!

Here's some hope for you AS-ers.

Basically at AS English Literature I got 160/200, scrapping an A, barely. I was predicted an A for my A-level but thought that I would end up overall with a B since my coursework was 67/80 and neeeded an high B in the exam to get an A overall and thought; 'No way that's happening. Good bye uni'. The vital thing is I didn't let this effect my work ethic and came out with an A* overall with 114/120 in the A2 exam whereas in the AS exam I got 93/120. I think what made the difference was that at AS I overburned myself and started revising for the exam 2 months before, whereas for the A2 exam I started revision 5 and a half weeks before the exam. The key is to time your revision to suit you.

Good Luck for A2. It's very enjoyable imo.

I'm on WJEC too. Our school did Arcadia and Carol Ann Duffy. In the January exam the highest grade was a C! I got 67/120 which is a D I completely ****** the Summer resit and my coursework dropped 10 marks :O so I ended up with a D overall, 5 off a C. So annoyed.

Did this happen to you too?

Yeah I was predicted an A, and was also looking at top ten unis. I ended up getting a B in the exam and a C in my coursework, even though my teacher said my coursework was a definite A. I got an overall C :/ I understand why I didn't get an A in the exam, but I'm completely bummed out about the coursework :/
