I got D's and C's all year, followed by a B in my Mock and then I got 120/120 in the final exam.

Completely surprised, I didn't think I would EVER have gotten full marks, but hey, I'll take it.

My whole class did really well actually, maybe we had a lenient marker.

I'm with AQA, & got and A on the exam (104/120) and a high B on the coursework, overall was an A. Funny thing is, all year round my teacher was telling me how I was going to fail English Lit AS, that I sould have got a C in my GCSE lit instead of an A and that I would be lucky to get a C in the summer... :/

I was with ocr, got a C overall Wasn't very happy considering english has been my main subject since I was little and got A* at GCSE...

Yeah same with us. Our school got some of the papers back in the January exam and found they had been marked too harshly and incorrectly. They appealed but to no avail. Exam boards don't like getting it wrong and admitting it!

Not surprised that this thread has taken off... I'm still feeling a little in shock about the whole thing! It seems that depending on your board/marker combination, things could have gone either really badly or really well! I've dropped English now, mostly because I don't want to risk another dodgy mark next summer - luckily I'm predicted all A's in my 3 remaining subjects. I'm still waiting for the result of my remark, although I applied for one on the day my results came out. With my school, it seems that half those taking the exam did really well, the other half really badly (C's and D's).

so literally i need help. should i apply for oxford to study history? by no means i have no high expectations my GCSES werent even amazing like others A*AAAABC plus 2 A*s in dont even wanna say health and social care i know but its not my fault okay my school had no other options (i hated art and drama) my alevels got three As and that flippin B in english lit, but i got full marks on sociology teacher was like drop it its useless, history and r.e. so do i actually have a chance TRUTH pleaseee

For English Language - in the coursework I got a low B; however, in the exam I got a high A (118/120 UMS)..so my exam:coursework results were pretty contrasting.

This is the exact same for me, except I got full UMS and a very low B for coursework.

72/120 - C
84/120 - B
96/120 - A

I got an A overall was predicted a C and honestly thought I'd failed the exam. My teacher ordered all the exam papers back so we could look at them and I only got just past half marks on all the questions!

I got 99/120 in the exam (scraped the A)
and 64/80 in the c/w (again, just an A)

so I was really close with 163/200 overall, I need to work twice as hard to keep the A this year!!

but if its any consolation loads of people did horribly in the exam (jan) and retook and got good grades, my friend went from an E in the january exam to an A in the retake

Were there problems with AQA LITB?! My class was generally good and I got 198/200 (1 raw mark in the coursework lost lol), so I was very proud. But it's a shame so many people were messed over with...

Really scared to get the remark result, so scared it'll go down! Has anyone had their paper remarked and have it go up considerably? One person in my sixth form has got her's back already and she went up by 10 marks, no idea how much UMS that is!

Those doing LITA didn't fair so well.

We did LITB and had the opposite- strong A candidates achieving 4/21 in some questions. The school recalled the papers and all teachers are in agreement that the marking was ridiculously harsh...

Woah that is harsh! AQA are a bit dozy sometimes. My Critical Thinking paper was a mess.

Exactly the same! I got a C in the mock and a D in the coursework and then got 120/120 in the exam, complete shock. There were only 3 A's in the year including me and all the teahcers were bafflled as my schools quite could and the department is strong, so we've applied for an entire centre re-mark. My friend got an A* at GCSE an A in her coursewrok and a U in the exam, its totally weird.

got my remark result exam went from a C to a B cool yeah but i want an A overall my courseworks an A problem im 10 marks away from the A in the exam? retake or work really hard in a2 what to dooo!
