I got an interview (call) with future supervisor (Jason Micklefield, department of chemistry, UoM) last friday for PhD. Then I checked my email this morning, he want me to have another discussion with Lorraine Onabanjo (Senior recruiter & admission officer) this evening (5.30 Malaysia time). Any tips? Or anybody knows Prof Jason Micklefield?

    Hello everyone!

I have accepted an unconditional offer for Advanced Computer Science Post Graduate Taught Course 2012-13 but I haven't received any further feedback since then (about 2 months), neither by email nor by post. Is this normal?

Generally I have not received emails by the CompSci department and the acceptance letter was sent to me only by post so I am a bit worried that maybe I am missing out on notifications.

    Thnx in advance!

When will we get our timetables? Will it be in freshers' week, or some time before then?

I think I knew mine in Freshers' Week or maybe a little bit before. You'll be able to access it when you get given all the details through the post anyway.

Timestables are made available in June. At least we (MBS) could access them via the MBS Undergraduate intranet around that time last year.

But you'll have to wait for your offer to become unconditional so you can use it I'm pretty sure ...

Did you apply via UCAS? Then that's where it should tell you ... The uni will send you a letter as well - so you either wait for that or just send them an e-mail.

It should be on UCAS - if I remember rightly (I applied in 2009!) you have to click on the course code on UCAS track and it will show you the conditions there.

Depends what subject you're doing. On mine, we get a lot of choice with regards to our modules, so they couldn't tell us until we'd picked our modules in Freshers week.

I'm doing my master and I applied online. I talked to them and they told me they didn't issue my offer letter yet although they offered me a conditional offer. (I got 6 in the writing band in IELTS while it should be 7) so I told them if I can take pre-sessional English and they said yes and will get back to me with details but nothing yet i'm really upset i'm afraid I will lose the offer .. do u have any idea how many weeks needed to get one point?

If they have told you that doing pre-sessional English will mean that you can still meet your offer, then you will be fine. How long is it since they said that they would give you some details?

I'm afraid I don't know much about IELTS / pre-sessional English though, as I'm British and so didn't have to deal with it.

I'm in the same position. Accepted an unconditional offer for a research Masters to start in July and yet to hear anything back with regards to start dates, fee installments etc. so can't tell if this is a good or bad sign for both of us

Hi guys, I've got a conditional offer for "tissue engineering for regenerative medicine". I applied for the course of english I must attend before I've been admitted and I've accepted the offer.
Usually how it works? Will I receive something else to sign?
    thank

There are few international UoM students on TSR (I'm struggling to think of a single one to be honest), so your best bet will be to contact the University Language Centre - there are some contact details here http://www.langcent.manchester.ac.uk...pre-sessional/

Hey, have we got like a facebook group yet? My girlfriend's going to Aber and they've got one. She's apparently already made some friends.

There's one for Life Sciences offer holders set up by the uni, we were told about it in an email. No idea about other subjects, though.
