First Westside is a program which most recommend is suitable for beginners.
Second if you were to look at my past log I was lifting more than that i've just had a month out and should get that strength back quite quickly.

It most definitely is not. It is an advanced programme for advanced lifters that already know their weaknesses and which exercises will best bring them up.

I'm not sure really, just sick of SS and want a slightly more size based program. The strange thing is that there is only one leg day per week, as opposed to SS which is almost all legs. I'm either going to do a workout every other day (ie A off B off C off A off B off etc) rather than A off B off C off off A off etc. Or i'm going to throw in a squats +something else day on sunday.

First Leg session, was really nice and felt hard. I think i'm going to modify the program so I squat on a sunday, and maybe do some leg assistance (haven't decided what yet)

Free weights area was packed so did things in reverse order

    Leg curls 130x10 150 8 8 6
    Walking DB lunges 25/hand x 8 x8 x8 - these were really hard, I liked them
Dead 120x5 - could have been higher, my grip was just really sweaty.
    Some grip ****.

If you want a more suitable version of Westside for a beginner, search for Vikingman's version. And if you want to do lower body twice a week, modify it so that it is over four days per week.

I think you should. It's more suited to people who just want to get big and strong and don't have fairly hectic sports commitments.

Having had a closer look at his version i'll take your advice and see how it goes. I've got a few weeks before university starts to really hammer it before the grind of engineering saps all my energy.

I'd recommend viking's too. Simplifies things and gets you deadlifting and squatting 2x a week so you get a fair amount of strength too. If I hadn't taken a couple of long breaks I'd be much better off but I'm on my way back up and making progress.

Aeronautical, starting my second year. Haven't really got any experience yet, hoping to get an internship with a defense contractor this summer.
