I want to study Economics and Maths at uni. In my GCSE I got 9A*'s and 2A's. These are my recent AS level results: Economics= A 95% Maths= A 97% Further Maths= A 87% History= A 92% Chemistry= B 76%
I plan to drop Chemistry.
I've already done A2 General Studies and have an A*. A2 Predicted grades= A*A*A*A
I was thinking of applying to Durham, Leeds, Birmingham, Loughborough. Are these choices realistic? Which others would you recommened?

All help appreciated.
What is the point of this thread other than posting your grades? I'm sure you are capable of deciding which universities to apply to.
I have quite similar, 7.5A* 2A gcse and range of 92%-96% in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics AS Levels and am applying to Oxford so go for it, if you don't apply you will never know!
There's no reason not to try Oxbridge if you have 6 choices.
How about looking into: LSE / UCL / Warwick, Bristol (both have excellent maths departments) / Edinburgh / Durham / Nottingham ??
You have the grades. Don't put yourself down and don't compromise. Going to a top uni really does help get your foot in the door when it comes to getting interviews.

With those grades there's no reason why you won't be able to get into oxbridge, they'd be very similar to others applying, just make sure you have volunteering experience or work experience in the field you want to study so as to increase competition with other candidates..

Thanks, I thought we had 5 choices?
You honestly think I could go to all of the uni's you've just mentioned??

Do you have self esteem issues or childhood traumatic stress where your father told you, you'd never amount to anything?? :/ Your are seriously good enough for any university you like. Take your pick of whatever 5 you like. And please, do include Warwick.

No, I don't have low self esteem. It's just no one from my school has ever applied to these kind of uni's, most apply to the one's that have "Met" on the end of them.
