Just bought me and my sister one of those Palgrave student planners. Her school decided to stop giving out planners for some reason...

Bought some lovely Oxford paper which was on discount in Staples, it is the best paper around

also finding it hard to look for a planner/diary thing, looked on moleskine, artbox, paperchase and other local places and have found nothing!

also stocked up on my favourite rollerball pens from my old college shop as they're discounted  how people can write with biros (especially blue :shudder: is beyond me!)

I don't mind biros tbh. :dontknow: I have a huge issue with blue pens though! I remember cheering when the black pen exam regulation happened.

You can try Amazon for planners.

Haha yes, I just don't see how anyone can enjoy writing in blue, it's such an eyesore on the page, black looks a lot neater <3

I've tried Amazon and nothing took my fancy, although maybe I'm just too fussy. When I was in a French supermarket in August and they had all their back to school planners in then I knew I should have got one! They always have the best

for organising my work, i am taking a ring binder in for each module to collect the work and stop it getting messy and then transfering it over to my subject folders. But generally I am typing throughout my lectures.

I've never tried Oxford paper, I just saw someone say it's decent. I think when I saw it a couple years ago it was narrow ruled so meh. I'll stick with my John Lewis paper.

What are you guys thinking you'll be doing in lectures that requires a whole pencil case?

Turning up with one biro floating around in the bottom of your handbag is sufficient..

I do know what you mean but I think they're pretty difficult to get, as they're the sort of thing that schools buy in bulk from specialised educational suppliers - just had a look online and Staples seems to have nothing. I checked the place that used to supply the stationery for my primary school and I think this is it, but you have to get them in packs of five and it costs £21.99; I don't suppose that's any good!

Edit: and you can't buy from them anyway unless you're a business, it appears ...
Aww gutted Guess I'll just have to stick with refill pads

Wilkinson's sell loose paper but it's pretty rubbish quality... I used it for revision purposes during A-levels
Hmm, I don't think there are any wilkos up here in Scotland :|... I was down in England this summer, if I knew I would have got some :awesome:

I've seen loose sheets of lined paper in Rymans.
    Next stop... Rymans! Thanks!

I spent £12 on Pukka Pads.

TWELVE GREAT BRITISH POUNDS ON PAPER?!

That said, it was worth every penny. No other paper is so white and thick and has those convenient perforated edges

Also thanks to this thread, an Palgrave planner is en route to my house :P

Top tip: WH Smith and Staples/ Ryman will rob you blind. Go to Wilkos, you can get everything you need at a decent quality for a fraction of the price! The only things I didn't buy from there are a diary and paper because I wanted real good stuff. They even have the stablo highlighters and those coloured fineliners that everyone likes :P

Love this thread My dad works for Palgrave Macmillan and last year managed to get me one of those academic planners for free, they're awesome

I am a complete stationery nut, my auntie bought me enough notepads to last for my entire time at uni as a leaving present and I'm actually pretty gutted that I won't need to buy a notepad this year! Sounds sad but I guess you all understand :p:

I have a lovely bright pink lever arch folder, it's massive and I use it for all my different modules, using dividers each semester. And I have an amazing pink & red flowery mid year diary from Saisburys, I did have a moleskine last year but I didn't use it much so I couldn't justify spending £15ish on it this year. The one I have was on sale and £1.99, oh yeah

I'm really looking forward to going back to uni, there's something wonderful about studying and using all this cool stationery. (Yes I am a big geek teehee)

Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably big (about A2 sized) whiteboard? Either high street shop or internet is fine.

I usually do everything in notebooks but I find going through more difficult maths on whiteboards is much easier.
Yes! Doing maths too as a combined course. Staples do one that's 600mm x 400mm (not far off A2 - 594mm x 420mm) for £7.99 (it says £4.99 on the website but I phoned up my local store and asked because it varies with VAT not displayed etc). It has a pine edge and is not magnetic but that's the one I'm planning on getting

In other news, so glad I found this thread: I went in Tesco's yesterday and they were selling off all the Back to School stuff for ridiculously cheap! Ringbinders for 15 p (so I bought their remaining stock, ahem), Sharpies and Berol pens for about 50p for a 4-pack, and so much more, I was in stationary heaven! I'd gone in to buy a pastel set of these:

    (Original post by Little Thorn)

    Mmm..love these fineliners
... yeah, they do a pretty pink pastel 6-pack I'd already bought the normal 10-pack! and was expecting to pay £2.50 (reduced from £6) as I'd seen them the other day. They were 62p! And the little 4-pack for about 50p which in my entire life of worshipping these fineliners I have never seen

So many things, yesterday was a good day.

Haha, I'm not doing maths, doing engineering which seems to have quite a few maths and applied maths modules.

    Thanks for the suggestions
