Will UK 360 games work with a Canadian xbox?

I have an xbox 360 over in Canada at the moment and plan bringing it with me when I go to university next year in the UK.

I don't know much about xbox's so are the games region free?

Some are, some aren't. Unlike Nintendo, Microsoft don't enforce region locking, but some games developers do lock them anyway. This website keeps track of which versions of games work on which consoles, which will let you check games as and when they get released [=
