What to do at uni, computer science?

Just started my a-level year. My AS results from last year were: Computing - B, Maths - B, Physics - D, Photography - A. I've since ditched photography, it wasn't helping anything.

I am predicted A for computing, B in maths, and B in physics (was having a very bad day on the exam-day, I am resitting it) for my final results.

Ideally, I was looking for a course in which following, I could progress into a job or career in computer security/software security/analysis and reverse-engineering.
From reading around, it seems common to just do a computer science degree and then specialise in security at a later date.

I'm already proficient in programming (Assembly, C, C++, Java etc) and have been from a young age though I realise Computer Science is more than just being able to code.

To summarise, my question is what would be the best degree (if that's even the best option?) to take to end up in computer andsoftware security/analysis?

From what I have heard, straight Computer Science (or a 4-year course in CS with Security from a reputable university) is preferable to taking a specialised course (be it game design, security, etc).
Security is highly mathematical topic in the already mathematical field of CS, so I would honestly go for the more theoretical Computer Science course over specialised, but less theoretical, Computer Security courses or whatever exists out there.

Once you have studied it properly, there is every chance you will hate security, in which case having a general CS degree will have opened up a lot more doors than a specialised one.
