    That's a hard one.

    10. Raintime - Flies and Lies
    9. Lynyrd Skynyrd - God and Guns
    8. Nightwish - Dark Passion Play
    7. Alestorm - Back Through Time
    6. Front Line Assembly - Fallout
    5. KMFDM - WTF?!
    4. The Skints - Live. Breathe. Build. Believe. (bought it off the lead singer after a gig, so glad I did. It's been one of my most played albums and certainly my favourite reggae album)
    3. Klaypex - Loose Dirt
    2. Akala - Doublethink
    1. VNV Nation - Of Faith, Power and Glory (lots of VNV Nation fans hate this release because it strays quite a bit from their roots. I think they're talking out of their arses. Probably their best album in my opinion)

It's very hard to narrow it down, so I'm restricting myself to one album per artist. It's the only way!

Yes, I know I've listed 12. I could write an essay on the many albums which narrowly miss out on my top 10 (including most stuff by Dream Theater and Opeth), but I will spare you having to scroll through that.

This is a bit old, not sure if it's changed since then

Still Life: amazing album. The vocal melody in Godhead's Lament... :coma:

    >Mahler's Fifth Symphony - Gustavo Dudamel and the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela
Dude... it's all about the Mahler 8 Solti recording. That symphony is leaaagues ahead of the 5th.

Also, the fact that dross such as the Clash is in your list completely cancels out the awesome that is Mahler.

    Regarding OK Computer:

I sometimes skip Exit music (for a film) on OK Computer. It's like listening to a funeral song for a member of the Mob - perhaps it belonged on The Godfather more than Romeo and Juliet.
It wasn't necessarily originally going to be on the album I think - it was recorded back in 1995 but it was literally only featured in the part of the film where the audience are exiting- the final credits. Its best function to me seems to be to serve as a good warm up, in its cynical mood, for Let Down. Some of Exit music's music sequences seem to have been adopted for Paranoid Android anyway (the 'rain down' part) so, in the sequencing, Paranoid Android beats it to that.
Although Talk Show Host wouldn't have fit with the album it sounds ahead of its time - would have been good on In Rainbows.
Bulletproof (I wish I was) would have been good in place of Exit music actually if it hadn't already been used for The Bends.

I often regard Climbing up the walls as the true ending of the album because, after that, it's just repetition of the same kind of points. No suprises may as well be a reprise of Let Down thematically. Lucky was originally not going to be on the album but it didn't do as well as expected as a single in 1995 so they included it - it does work but as a semi- rock song, it's never going to come off well next to The Bends (Electioneering is a very good rock song though and the album needed it). And The Tourist is one of those songs that you might find dreary in most moods and only ethereal if you are feeling low.

I still can't decide what is Radiohead's best album but, if you want to feel comforted or energised, you would be better off listening to The Bends overall. The Bends alreday has some of the themes that are in OK Computer but it also has different themes as well, like physical ailments and not being able to get the one that you love. By OK Computer it's like they have already given up on thinking of human love and are seeking it elsewhere. It is a conceptual progression (regression?) in that sense but I would get both albums, not just OK Computer.

Could I also buck the trend by saying that I think Absolution is a better album than Origin of Symmetry. Even though Origin is more experimental and out there, Absolution in my opinion is more rounded without a filler song on there, unlike Origin where I feel Screenager and Darkshines are weaker songs.

Mmmm, I haven't bought an album for years.

As three of my iTunes top ten most played seem to be from the same album I'd have to say Snow Patrol - Eyes Open. After that I have no clue.
