    You don't.

If you have a particularly brilliant one that you want discussed, ask your referee to. Otherwise, you only enter your grades and not your UMS scores.

where do i put my UMS?
In the 'other' box, since they are being requested.

    Hey I've got another question.

Right now I'm on a gap year. I already have my achieved grades and will be applying for medicine. Do I need to apply to UCAS through my old college or as an individual.
    Thanks.
You can do either. If you are asking for a reference from your old college they will usually ask you to apply through them, so I would check what they would like you to do.

    hi everyone,

i want to apply for the economics and philosophy course at the following unis (typical offer in brackets):
    manchester (ABB)
    leeds (AAB)
    southampton (AAB)
    cardiff (AAB)
    sheffield (AAB)
possibly ucl (AAA) or bristol (A*AA-ABB)

at AS my grades were A - history, B - economics, and Cs in maths and politics.
this year i am dropping politics and am predicted AAB for next year (b in maths).

taking into consideration my AS grades and my predicted grades, am i likely to recieve any offers for the abouve mentioned universities?

also, will the fact that i have no relevant work experience hinder my application?

    thanks a lot,

At GCSE, I did Maths GCSE a year early and got a C. I did a retake of a module but (due to illness, although that's irrelevant) got a D, however they sent me a certificate for Maths with a C on it, and then a certificate after I got my results for the retake with a D on it. What do I put down as my GCSE Maths grade?

I assume the decision maths is a module in the AS? In that case, just enter the higher grade against the module title. The first sitting won't have been certificated in January, so you don't you have to declare it - unless a uni specifically asks for this information, which they will do separately.

I've had both my AS and A2's certificated this year.

On my UCAS application this year, will i have to put my AS, A2 and A2 predictions down?
    eg:
    AS : AABE
    A2: BBC
    A2 prediction A*AAb/A*AABc

Also, can i leave my AS grade E in physics out?
It doesn't look that nice and i'm retaking it to get a B. Can i just write pending for it or will it have to be the grade E AND pending ?

If i were to do further maths instead, would that mean i can leave the grade E in physics out?
Eg, i would be applying with maths, econ, chem and FM with A*AAb so would i be able to skip physics out?

I just want to know if there is a way not to include my physics E and how i would write my grades down as i'm resitting my A2's.

On my UCAS application this year, will i have to put my AS, A2 and A2 predictions down?
    eg:
AS : AABE You must enter all of these
A2: BBC and these, as achieved qualifications
A2 prediction A*AAb/A*AABc You enter the A levels (and AS if applicable) again as pending qualifications.

Also, can i leave my AS grade E in physics out? No

Read the first post in this thread. You are categorically required to include all your qualifications.

I resat two AS levels (history and geography) in June at the same time as I was sitting my A2 levels. I initially had a C in both subjects but achieved an overall A in geography and a B in history. My question is: will I get new AS certificates at the same time that I receive my A Level certificates?

    Thanks.

If I'm resitting a module in jan, can a university stipulate I must achieve the grade needed in January or would I have a second chance in June if I screw it up? :holmes:

They could stipulate that if they like, but it would be a very unusual condition! Unusual conditions do happen occasionally, for example someone at my school was required to get either 80% or 90% (can't remember which now..) in every maths module they sat.

I don't think that there's anyway the universities would even know for sure that you are sitting the module in January, as opposed to waiting until June?

Fingers crossed they don't then :o:

I have never hated Maths more, especially seeing as it's so unneeded for my subject :nn:

    it's a pity, really.

Mathematics is such a beautiful subject that the education system has ruined.
Mathematics is never done for fun any more.

do you think its true that if you apply to oxbridge and therefore send your application in terms of the oct 15 deadline that it makes your chances of other unis weaker because the competition that you're compared against will be other oxbridge candidates? I heard someone say this and it's made me wonder...

Probably, but that's not relevant to whether you include the old and new grades on your UCAS - the answer is that you do, whether the certificates are in your hand or not.

The unis would know because you would give the date when you expect to sit the exam. They can and sometimes do specify when the offer grade must be achieved, if an applicant is resitting.
