I'd only be doing it to go to an appointment for another sixth form, but if I had to stay at my current school, would it look bad? I would be missing my last lesson.

Oh, I plan to explain the situation at the front desk when I arrive in the morning.

I don't see why not. Your head of year may be a little annoyed that she may have to take you off the register if you decide to enroll at the other 6th form tho, when someone else who wanted to enroll at your school decided to go elsewhere bcoz there were no more places.

your in sixth form get out of this routine of what the school thinks acceptable

just tell them you an not turn up for last lesson
if asked why say its private(not snottily)

    then go

as your in sixth form you don't actually need to turn up to any of your lessons

Maybe. I'm hoping that some other kid would take my place if I were to transfer because they applied late like I did for the other sixth form.

    Thank you for your advice.

I think if I didn't turn up to any lessons, they wouldn't look kindly on that...

It's mostly the fact that it's the first day which is making me feel nervous, as I feel like I might be making a bad impression instantly...?

Since you have a legitimate reason, I don't see the problem. Just explain it to that teacher. Maybe say that it's an appointment with a doctor/dentist if you don't want to let on that you might be going elsewhere.

Thank you! I'm glad most people don't think it's that bad... I thought I'd get a worse response.

If it's anything like my school the OP will just get the magic glass of water, wait a bit and be sent back to class.

Then he should just say he still feels ill and leave. There's no legal requirment for him to attend his 6th form.
