Re: Graduate entry dentistry 2012 - (University of central Lancashire)Hi! I'm also in flat 5A - nice to meet you! I'm in Room 004, how about you? X(Original post by mcp99)
Hi everyone!
Long time thread stalker, first time poster. Just thought id post that im in flat 5A, that means 5th floor flat A if people havent worked it out yet.
They do try to put all the dentists together in boatmans court, if everyone in your flat isnt a dentist then im pretty sure they put post grads in (essentially they dont put you with freshers).
Im excited to meet everybody in June too, will probs stay off the beer though as i will also be driving! -

Re: Graduate entry dentistry 2012 - (University of central Lancashire)
How clinically intensive is this course?
One of the biggest problems of various dental schools is the lack of 'true' clinical experience. I understand some universities hold your hand for most of the years and never really allow you to refine your clinical skills as you are limited by the number of sessions per week.
I want to leave a dental school comfortable with my knowledge and skills, so I can actually practice on a patient without any issues, as opposed to attempting to learn everything during my VT training years. One dentist who graduated from a well known London dental school told me how he felt like he was started all over during his VT. -
Re: Graduate entry dentistry 2012 - (University of central Lancashire)
It was the most clinically based of the courses I have looked around. You have to bear in mind its a graduate only course so were already packed with previous knowledge that can easily be relearned, so it seems its more focused on the clinical side.
Don't remember being given an IQ test though. If I was, I can't imagine I did well seeing as I dont remember it.

Re: Graduate entry dentistry 2012 - (University of central Lancashire)I'm going casual, its an open day and a chance to meet the other students as I understand it - not another interview!(Original post by nfarmer1)
i reckon casual...that was my plan anyway! they have seen us dressed up at interview. i reckon it will be a pretty relaxed session
See you all tomorrow x -
