Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadWhat about HSBC?(Original post by silence18)
I looked through the virtual tours and found 2 NatWest cashpoints. I hope this helps! -
Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadI didn't see one of those but it would be safer to ask someone who is already studying there.(Original post by huzsky)

Hope it might be of some use! Cheers! :D -
Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadThank you! I understand that it would be wiser to open an account after starting uni so that we can benefit from the student discounts?(Original post by huzsky)

Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's Thread
Hi guys
thought i would just say that i encourage anyone who was rejected from QM to try and appeal for an interview. i was rejected from drama on the basis i would be more suited for a drama school and yet i want to be a drama teacher so need a degree. so i rang and emailed and rang and emailed until finally one day i was accepted for an interview and after that i now have a conditional offer!! proves that you don't ask, you don't get. i'm so glad i did keep on as QM is my top choice and i went from rejected to an offer

I looked through the virtual tours and found 2 NatWest cashpoints. I hope this helps!
There is one barclays on campus (west side), one out side arts two on mile end road, one link ATM at budgens, and further down to stepney green, there's another (cant remember which bank though...Llyds?) one.(Original post by huzsky)
What about HSBC?
and ALL of them are free to use, so no transaction fee, which means no need to worry if you just need some cash...
btw, u can always cash back at budgens

Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's Thread
I have a big problem.
I'm afraid that I can not meet the conditional in one subject.
Queen Mary required 2 subject to pass on 90% and one on 80 % [ LAW].
I have already passed two subject on 96 and 95 % .
Unfortunately, it seems to me that the third subject ENGLISH ! of which will have around 68% .
Worst of all it is a result of that my school is located near the airport and the listening part was disturb by planes F16<preparing for euro 2012> !!!! I lost all my point from listening part becouse i could not hear anything.
I can not blame myself becouse it is not my foult and exam rules do not allow you to stop listening and any other part of the exam.
All of my friends are really angry but this is not so important for them as for me.
What should i do now ?
Have I lost my chance to get to the University in this stupid way ?
Maybe I should write to them? and describe everything . I got IELTS on band 7 i hope it could balance this stupid result from english.
Please tell me what should I do in this situation. -
Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadI think you should email them and ask if they would still consider your application, I think that if you passed IELTS with 7 overall you should be fine(Original post by Andachiel)

Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadWell you do 4 modules per semester. In the first semester each module has a one hour lecture per week. 3 out of the 4 modules are entirely coursework assessed (essays and group projects). One is a exam which you do at the end of the year.(Original post by idealized)
aw thanks! well i was wondering how many hours of uni do you have a week? And how are we examined? (like presentations, group works, exams etc?) ^___^
In the second semester one module has a 2 hour lecture and the other 3 have one hour lecture per week. 3 modules part part exam assessed and part coursework. One module is assessed entirely through coursework. We also had to do a group presentation in this semester.
For each module you have to attend a one hour seminar per week. There are approximately 8 seminar classes to choose from so you're bound to find a seminar time that suits you. So there is a lot of free time.Last edited by ResultsDday; 29-05-2012 at 14:20. -

Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's Thread
I applied for studying abroad at QMUL, and got an e-mail quickly. I had sent a letter of recommendation in there as well, but I guess they misplaced it, because they wrote, "We will confirm our decision as soon as we receive your letter of reference."
Sent another copy immediately, and haven't heard back. It's been a week. How long would you say it takes? I'm sort of just wondering if it'll take weeks or months, in no rush either way, just curious. -
Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadEvery time I've contacted them via e-mail (at least, contacting someone in the admin departments), it's taken from three to four weeks for someone to reply. I wouldn't hold your breath, just be patient :].(Original post by Kyzzx)

Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's Thread
Just firmed QMUL.
I was wondering, am I now bound to the university? As in, even if I can't manage to finance the tuition fees, will I still be forced to go there? I have some family issues that might need to resolve themselves in order for me to fund my study in the UK, but that's not for sure yet. Any info on that? -
Re: Queen Mary 2012 Applicant's ThreadYour an international student? If you can't finance yourself you could call QMUL up to say you want to reject yourself from the process, it's fairly easy they can't force you to go if you don't want to although you are legally bound to the university until you take action.(Original post by theracinghammock)
