Robert Webb is in tonight's episode! I hadn't realised. He's a guaranteed laugh.
He didn't need to be in this really. He's just like he was in the Peep Show now and again...

I personally rate Webb pretty highly, especially in Peep Show, but he adds nothing to Fresh Meat, just seems inappropriate that's he's in it, cast with many actors and actresses who aren't really well known to the public and are trying to make a name for themselves etc...

I find this show pretty disappointing given that the guys behind it were involved in series like The Thick Of It and Peep Show. It really did have potential to be great.

The only character that really made me lol at all was Tank Commander. And the black girl is hot.

It seems too much of a blatant cashing in on the success of shows like Skins and The Inbetweeners (though it's most definitely better than both of these).

Every scene with Vod in makes me want to tear my eyes out. It is so ****ing boring when she is on it!

The Oregon character could be good but the girl playing her doesn't seem to have anything to 'grab' me with.

Saying that, I think the Inbetweeners guy is far and away the most boring part of the whole show. His acting was terrible on the Inbetweeners but at least the show was fun.

I am getting annoyed with 'Oregon?' trying to act all cool and saying something, then contradicting herself. And what was with all the scenes about the car? Could have jsut admitted it at the start.

Vod is also boring as hell.

Whitehall is stealing the show again (not a bad thing at all).

Do you not get that she's trying to impress her housemates by going along with what the others say, do and like?

That's the point, it's a bit too unrealistically obvious and contrived.

Agreed. When most people create a new persona for themselves, they at least make it attainable.

I know the show is meant to be exagerrated realism. But there is enough comedy in a person creating a new persona to fit in without making it completely unrealistic.

I can't believe I chose the 90s night over him.... He's going to be doing stand up at my uni tonight! :sigh:

Oregon is really annoying. I understand that she's trying to mould herself into whatever she thinks other people like but she's SO irritating it's just stupid now.

I thought Joe Thomas's character was a little to like his Inbetweeners character.
he's the british michael cera, he's now typecast to play awkward teenage/young lads for the next 5 years.

He really cannot act at all though. Even in the Inbetweeners, he was far and away the worst actor out of the four leads.

Saw episode 2 but not episode 1. I hate two of the characters (that wanabe gal and that **** guy) in it but still enjoyed it and will watch episode 3.

Really? because I've met so many people like that at university.

Anyways I watched both episodes this afternoon and thought it was good but not great. It might become great as the series goes on, however currently it's better than the last few series of Skins but worse than Skins series 1+2 and The Inbetweeners.

This being said they have nailed some aspects of Uni, the rah character is perfect, Oregon is exactly like so many people when they first start uni, the whole awkwardness of the first few days is definitely true. The insulting a girl you like + turning away when she looks back, yup definitely remember that from weird relationships as a teenager. The strange hygienically challenged layabout, yup. About the only stereotype they don't have yet is a hipster who hates everything mainstream and fails to realise that what they like has become mainstream.

The only thing that came across as really cliche was the over possessive aggressive boyfriend that hadn't been previously mentioned. That's been used so many times on tv.

I'd probably give it a B- at the moment but it's got potential.
