Hmm. This makes me question whether I should take receiving this email as a necessarily positive thing- do you think they just send it out to all applicants?. Congrats on getting an interview with them- how did you find it?
No I think its definitely a positive thing as I remember the email last year saying that 'we're interested in you app and so are putting it on hold until after we've reviewed all apps' (don't know how they've worded the email this year).

Interview wasn't very structured and it was more of a chat than anything else (I think its cos it was the first year they'd done them). The nicest Partners I've ever met though and they seemed like a lovely firm. I didn't get the TC but they sent a personalised letter to me after which made me feel better lol.

Does anyone know what the pass mark is for the Watson Glaser Critical Thinking test for Hogan Lovell? Or a rough estimate from those that had passed it?

Have any LAW applicants heard anything from either Linklaters or Slaughter and May, (for good or bad)?

    Crapola

Don't know how long until interviews might start for law students - the indications are that some might be early. In expectation of this, I have conspired to get a huge cut across my left eye which has been sutured and stiched up, so that my CV might as well say :

    Name: Black Dog
    Previous Employment: Pirate
Place of Employment: "The Sea Skull"
Skills: I can say "Avast!" and "Yo ho ho"
"We see that under hobbies you've put rapine and pillage, tell us about that"

"We see that under hobbies you've put rapine and pillage, tell us about that"
"I believe my experience in this area will see me in good stead for work on M&A"

On another note - just realised that I totally cocked up my application to Farrer.

I checked the whole thing through and was about to send it - then I decided to make a last minute change to one question. I do these on MS word so as to get the spell checker and word counts done, and then paste them across. Well, I must have made some kind of mistake in the pasting as I ended up with the same text repeated twice in one question. I skimmed over the whole thing, but because that question had the same start and the same ending - I missed it. Only picked it up when I printed it out a few days later.

I'm doing Manches tonight, and that's it for me for this year (and hopefully forever).

Ahhh, buggeration. I always do this kind of thing in applications, which is strange as I usually have good A2D.

Hope it all goes well. This English thing of all the interviews being in the Summer is a bit mad.

Haven't read the 37 pages lol

Quick question, when do these 2014 training contracts start?

I graduated last June, currently working in a conveyancing firm trying to get some experience, don't want to do LPC just yet as it is not good out there.

Could I apply for these 2014 contracts, and if I get accepted, do the LPC 2013? Is that how the timing works?

    Cheers

Yeah that's pretty much how it works. Most of these start in Sept 2014 so the LPC in 2013.

I'm a bit behind on my applications but I'm definitely going to get most of them done in time.

I think this is my first post in this thread. I've been lurking for a while, so hello everyone.

Generally 31 July, but some are slightly earlier and a few smaller firms go on until August. Chambers Student Guide has a list in the "A-Z of firms" section (it's on each firm's profile), but naturally it may not be up to date.

And there are always firms recruiting right up to the last minute.

We don't close our 2014 recruitment until December 2012

There is an autumn 2012 TC on offer currently with a London IP niche firm with a closing date of 3/8/12

No offence but get a full time job with a 2 hour daily commute and a life then come back and tell me that

No harm in asking in a thread where I know I'll get a quick response!

Does anyone know how high the benchmark is on the Clifford Chance critical reasoning test?
