How many applications are people submitting in this final hour?

    Just wondering.

I'm submitting 3 hopefully. 2 are finished and just need proofreading and a little re-jigging. The third one has to be done by 12pm tomorrow or I'm not even going to bother, but I've got a lot of rough notes for most of the answers, just need to conjure up some good answers based on those and type them up.

I have to buy a new tie for an interview. I always go with blue. This time I'm going with red and I don't have any red ties, so I have to buy one.

Top work getting an interview at A&O. When did you submit your application? Hard luck with CC - these verbal reasoning tests can be cruel.
Thank you, it was around mid July. I know, they're so random!

Got one with A&O too btw with CC were u invited to complete the verbal reasoning test immediately after submitting your app? I submitted mine early july and have still not been asked to complete the test yet
Well done!! They rejected me pre interview for the VS so quite relieved about that! And yeah I got my CC verbal reasoning test email around a day or so after my submission (in mid July) but from my rejection email it did seem to suggest that they didn't even look at my application because I didn't meet the benchmark but who knows how the whole process works, so just hang in there, it may be good news!

I'm spent. 17 done in total but only about 4/5 that are any good. Any recommendations for firms with deadlines still to pass?

Just to clarify: some people HAVE been rejected by CC already? And some of those people were rejected by CC AFTER they had submitted the Verbal Reas test? But nobody has been invited to interview yet?

You can probably pull off red ties, but can I tell you an amusing story?

I had an interview for a vacation scheme at BLP in November. I arrived early and so was in Liverpool Street Station and decided to grab a coffee as I was quite sleepy. I was wearing a red tie. Flustered woman runs up to me and asks me when a train was leaving and when I looked confused she apologised and thought I worked for National Express (??)! I was mortified!!

unfortunately I need the sleep, what with my observing of silly religious rituals (im fasting). I joke I joke - not that silly! But yes, but for Ramadan I'd probably being staying up late too pal.

Med2ky, how was the slaughters interview?

Also, has anyone else applied to the gls?

    Peace

This may seem like a stupid question, but what's the actual deadline if it's 31st of July, was it 12am or is it before close of play today?

Lol, same. I've worn the same blue tie to 8 interviews/assessment days now - none of them successful. Should really demand a refund.
Not exactly the reasoning behind my decision, well not completely.

I just want a different over all look.

Blue suit, white shirt, blue tie. Grey suit, white shirt, blue tie. Blue suit, very feint/light pink shirt, blue tie - all have failed miserably. Bare in mind this isn't the same blue tie. To the last interview I wore a very nice, new, different shade of blue tie. It still didn't work.

That is amusing haha. But if someone thought I worked for National Express in my suit, I'd go back to get a damned refund.. and maybe slap up the person.

I thought Ramadan meant you could stay up late more easily. Stay awake till sun rise or whatever for food. Go to sleep and get up late during the day.

Unless you have work tomorrow I guess. Maybe I should stop assuming everyone is an unemployed student.

Midnight tomorrow from what I have been told - for most firms. I.e. those that use cvMail and A4L. Others may have their own limits.

I failed crime. I was really sick the night before the exam but Couldnt be arsed saying I was unfit to sit because I knew it all and didnt want to wait till august.

The result is I have had to anyway!

My other marks are all over 60. Will this **** me over?????

There is usually an extenuating circumstances section on apps, so you could mention what happened there.

I'd have thought smaller/medium firms will be fine with a little blip if your other marks are good.

Big City firms might not be so forgiving, but then again it is crime you've failed. If it was contract I might be a little more worried. If I had to guess, I'd say that some will let you off, whereas others will take a more dim view.

Hi, do you think it's still worth applying to Slaughter and May, since they have started interviewing already?

Freshfields said they would get back to me within 2 weeks once I had completed my verbal reasoning test. I completed it over two weeks ago. Any suggestions? I presume it is just a busy period at their end and that I should just sit tight.

Is anyone still working on Reed Smith? If so, I have some useful information for one of the questions, and as I'm not applying to them, I'm in a generous mood.

I am. What info do you have?

I'm currently doing some additional research on the case study.

Why aren't you applying to them?
