I did the Herbert Smith tests 10 days ago, but still heard nothing. Is this a good sign? If you fail the tests surely you'd get a swift rejection? Everything is riding now on herbies and TW :/

Pfo wiggins llp. I know they say they can't provide feedback but does anyone think it is worth emailing them after the recruitment process? Ideally I want to do media law, spent 2 years researching music law, written 2papers on it as part of my LLM and interned weekly at the local radio station... Not sure what else I should be doing!

I can't offer any help unfortunately, but as someone who is in a similar boat to you, comiserations... Wiggin has knocked me for six a bit as like you almost everything on my CV/ECs/interests are media-law related, and I'd really hoped I'd at least interview. As far as I can acertain they are incredibly popular and their intake pales in comparison to many other firms of their popularity level, so I suppose it may well be a case of the numbers just being against us... *sigh*

Yeah, I'd say no news is good news. I did the test and got my rejection the day after the deadline. Did the app and test on the 30th though.

    Dear Law Firms,

I'm really sorry for all the nonsense I put in my application forms to try and clear the kids out of my way. I'm sorry for the Rocky and Karate Kid stories, citing Kim Kardashian in a commercial awareness question, setting an answer to music and claiming that one of my strengths was that I am in it for the money and not to get laid.

I'm sorry for the "overcoming adversity" story based on a chicken nugget, I'm sorry for putting on a diversity form that I was straight but in mitigation had been to a Scissor Sisters concert.

I'm even sorry for answering the "are there any questions you would like to ask us?" with "Was Steve Jobs overrated?".

I didn't mean any of it, now can I please have an interview?

How long did it take for Simmons to get back to you after the WG test if you don't mind me asking?

You have no idea how much I want all of those things to be true...
In the sense that I'm really sorry? Maybe not. In the sense that I actually put that down? There's all that and more, but some of it is still on pending applications.

I have to say that I think an undergraduate would have to be absolutely stellar to get into Sheridans, with a wolf-bagging reference to boot. I would imagine that their typical trainee is someone changing careers from being a 15-year BBC script editor, with a filofax packed full of private numbers they want to get their paws on.

I think a hatfull of PFOs should be evidence enough.

    Uhhh...quite a while. I think I applied mid-July, so a couple of weeks?

No, but Charles Russell aren't meant to be letting people know until (well, "by", I think) the 10th. Or so their acknowledgement email suggested. :indiff:
