That is weird because I thought alot of those unis you mentioned above are as if not more competetive than Stirling. It might be a mistake, it does happen Contact admissions and ask them to reconsider as they may have read your grades wrong.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm pretty sure it's not a mistake. They've said I can't meet the A level standards required for the course, which is correct. However, the uni's I have received offers from had entrance standards just as high or higher, so obviously they looked at more than just A levels.

I will give them a call, but I'm not very hopeful.

Is Stirling your first choice?

Just had a rejection for Maths . Gutted as it was my top choice for a number of reasons! Also surprised as I've had offers from Lancaster, Kent and Heriot-Watt. And without sounding conceited, it wasn't down to my PS, as that was the best part of my application. I'll enquire, but I suspect I'm stuffed,

I'm keen to find out exactly what course options are available. There's a lot in the prospectus about how flexible the degrees are, but I'd really like to see specifics. I can't believe you can choose absolutely anything. Also, I've applied for entry into year 2, which will change things considerably I imagine. As I understand the degree is flexible until the end if semester 3. Although you say you're not at that stage yet, I'm surprised you don't yet know what your options will be.

I have considered asking the uni directly, but not had much luck you other questions I've asked so far. I am planning on visiting, but I prefer to have a good idea of how the system works before I visit.

Does anyone know if Professional Education is one of the optional subjects you can pick?

In terms of modules, anyone can pick up the first year Education modules. However, only those who have applied to study the Professional Education course (also known as the ITE program) can continue with it. Some years there are spaces where people can join the ITE program if they do the first year modules as their extra module, but your chances of doing that are slim, especially if your teaching subject is pretty popular.

I didn't hear back from Education until early April last year, so if you haven't heard back yet try not to worry!

Thanks ! My teaching subject is computing (which i get the impression that people arent exactly comming out the woodwork to teach) so hopefully if i dont get accepted for my first choice it'll still work out

Ah, so have you already got an offer for Computing then? If you're second choice is Computing and Education (and no added subjects) then you should have a good chance of getting an offer, though don't quote me on this Computing doesn't seem like a very popular choice for teaching, so you should be ok. But as I said, they take their time replying back to the Education students, so although it's annoying you'll just have to wait it out

Well ive got an offer for computing on its own (Without education) but yeah, hopefully itll go to plan just need to keep waiting untill it comes through!
