Ah, well good luck!! I don't study Philosophy, but I've heard its very good here

Stirling is a good second choice, if not first (not that I'm biased haha). What's your first choice?
Thank you! what do you study? and yeah, it looked lovely when I came on the open day! the philosophy lecturer was so cool :')

If I get an offer, Lancaster is my favourite!

No problem! If you have any questions about Stirling Uni in general, feel free to ask I study History, Politics and Professional Education, though I'm only in my first year at the moment.

Yeah, the campus is beautiful, especially in good weather (which always seems to appear on open days ).

Don't know much about Lancaster, but seems to be a pretty good uni. I hope you get your first choice!

    From: Blackpool
    Applied for: Psychology
    Grades needed: BBC
Grades predicted: AAA or AAB (depends on how nice my maths teacher decided to be)

I applied for level 1 entry (BBC), but because I've got high predicted grades will they give me an offer for level 2 entry (think they want ABB/AAB)?

Either way, the uni looks fab! And the area is so pretty
Yay, another psychology hopeful! Is Stirling your first choice? Also, have you applied for BA or BSc?

What topic are you doing for AH History?
The American Civil War, so far it has been a great topic - even though we havent got to the war yet! Are you doing it, if so what topic?

Ah, the waiting is always the worst! Hopefully it won't be too long before you find out

Yeah that's what I thought, but a friend told me that Stirling didn't, but they put a huge emphasis on the personal statement. Like most places I suppose.

I believe they do conduct interviews for teaching, simply because most institutions do. However you're also correct on the PS front, they really do put huge weighting on the quality of your statement, especially if they have a large number of applicants like last year.

Yeah I'm doing it, but our topic is the Scottish Wars of Independence! I do love history, I'll probably take it as a unit at Stirling!

Ah, I'm applying for BA; want to do Psychology and Sociology! I've heard Glasgow is good for Psychology, but I don't fancy living there..

Oh cool. I really want to do as a single honors course but I can't think of many jobs that History degrees give you.

If you're applying for Secondary Education then no, Stirling doesn't interview you before they give you an offer (the only exception is PE teaching). They have a seminar each semester in first year that acts a bit like the interview process, and there's an informal interview at the end of first year. If it's Primary Education you've applied for you'll need an interview.

Make sure your personal statement is strong, since that's what they'll focus their decision on.

For secondary education, no you won't get interviewed. But like others have said, make your personal statement stand out =)

I'm in third year at Stirling, did my first two years doing prof ed and french and spanish, but I've dropped education as I'm going to graduate at the end of third year and apply for speech therapy - teaching wasn't for me!

But any questions about the ITE programme or French, I'll do my best to answer for you.

    Good luck =)
