I emailed and they said you can only have one recall audition :frown: *But* they also said that just because I had a drumming audition that doesn't mean I won't be a cast as a dancer (maybe if i was rubbish at drumming?? I'm not sure!). I'll just have to wait and see what happens

Very interesting, I put down dancer on my application and got acting! And would have loved a dance audition, but saying that I really dont mind what I do as long as I am part of it!
Does anyone know how many people were auditioned and how many people they want to perform?
Just trying to find out what our odds are of getting a place in the ceremony!!
( I need something to think about in these 6 to 8 weeks waiting)!!

Hi, I am being recalled for 2nd Dec @5:30pm, not a dancer or actor but enjoyed the first audition, so maybe that got me through!

I read in a few places that around 12,000 people applied. They need 10,000 people - so once you also discount the people that have too many commitments to make rehearsals or were coming from Nottingham, Portsmouth, Scotland etc and are also unlikely to make rehearsals, I think you've got a pretty good chance. I think you've got an almost 99.9% chance if you're male and can put one foot in front of the other - I know they were short of men, at my initial audition it only seemed to be around 10% men.
I wondered at the auditions why they were asking for people who worked for the NHS, and just found this:

Thought it was interesting!

Hmmm what about the youth of great Britain? Shouldn't there be something specific for the youth and Teens who are our countries next generation? I don't really want to be only a drummer or a ceremony escort helper.
Just done my recall audition. It wasn't at all what I was expecting and I have no idea what they were looking for. Was good fun though, just finished too soon! I was hoping to be there for longer.

Fingers crossed.

Were you dancing, acting, drumming?
They were very strict that we shouldn't say! I hate breaking the rules.... There was definitely no drumming, that's for sure.

Good luck hope it went well.
I had an acting recall audition and it only lasted 2 hours, and from what we had to do in the audition I have no idea what they were looking for!
Heres hoping I get through.
I have my suspicions it was to do with the general stewarding and athlete fencing-in. Just because there wasn't anything specifically acting or drumming or dancing. I could be wrong. I would've liked a tad more dancing just because it is so much fun to do, but I'm happy with anything I get. I'll sweep the floor if they need me to.

Good luck everyone!
I think we probably had the same sort of audition ! I was bored to tears, though, bar the first half an hour or so !

Also had my recall today. They said it was for closing ceremony specifically which is cool but some people were disappointed when we were told that.. Was over very fast - some people were done in 45 mins! Was a bit dancey and a bit acty but it's fair to say noone there was a professional dancer! I'd say it was sort of fun but over very fast.

Thanks for the info.
Its very interesting all the different audititions that people here have had.
I guess they know exactly what they want people to do, and in what sections of the opening and closing ceremonies, its just frustrating that we dont know !
I just hope that everyone that got a second recall has got something to do in these ceremonies. I know that some people never got a recall after the first audition, so I feel lucky to have had that, but I am with you, I will be happy with anything, as long as its something.

Do you think the period in which you have the recall audition determines if you will be taking part in the opening or closing ceremonies? or just random chance?
Well, DB was in the corner and as he's in charge of the opening, I guess we were there for that...but no one said specifically.

Well, who knows really exept those in the know! Up till now everything seems tobe random, what recall audition you got was random, as dancers got drumming and acting and drummers got dancing, unless of course you spoke to them after the auditon when they specifically asked for people with the specific expertise.
But from what the last recall auditions have posted it seems that maybe the first auditions were for the opening and the latter ones for the closing.
I read on twitter that a professional dancer (danced with take that) has had it confirmed that he will perform in the closing ceremony, and I know the opening ceremony is important and big and grand and opulent, but the closing ceremony is just as important for the handing over to the next country.

As I said who knows!
I just hope I am there doing something!

Wow, how exciting for you to have DB there.
Good luck.
I had same recall as Sausageandmash above - did not see DB though!
Will be happy just to be there.

My daughter who also originally auditioned on 13th Nov has finally got her recall notice to say she has recall next week for pointe work.

He was there! Stood by the wall on the east side towards the end when the last people were saying their words...
