I still havent heard nothing from Paralympic audition result yet. In the meantime, today i received a call from Rio handover team if i were interested for drumming and samba dance which i ticked online. After they learnt that i did films in the past, they suggested i could go for productions. They booked me in this Sunday for Productions. Can anybody enlighten me how the auditions for backstage/production being carried out? Would be much much appreciated
Are you auditioning for the samba and drumming too or have you forgone that in favour of the Production role?

The Production role could be to do with the actual filming of their segment because I know that they will be busy promoting it in Brasil too. They've recently said on their FB page that they are looking for volunteers to work "behind the scenes" so it sounds to me that this is what they mean in relation to you.

As far as I know, I don't think there are any auditions for production as such. It will most probably be a meeting - maybe to go through what you've done - but don't quote me on that as it's me speculating again.

The Production for the Handover sounds interesting and I'd say "go for it" because not only would it be a good chance to get behind the scenes in such a high profile event, but it would also be something good and interesting to add to your C.V. too.

    Good luck!

I am very pleased to see that there are several of us here going for the Rio Handover auditions. Especially those of you who haven't heard anything from the Ceremonies side of things. I know that it's another audition but for those of you "not heards", I'd suggest perhaps to give the auditions a go and see what happens.

From what I've heard, time is running out for applying for the samba dance auditions, but I do understand that the drumming auditions will be starting soon. In addition, I've heard that the Samba de Gafiera auditions will shortly commence as well.

The Rio Handover team are relatively quick in terms of response and 9 times out of 10 you get through to speak to someone there. Here's their flier which has further info plus contact details:-

I'm going for this as well, couldn't resist! I have a samba audition on Saturday, I picked samba as I had no idea what any of the other things were! But thanks for the education, Dancerwoman. It looks like Gafeira is more akin to the ballroom/latin samba? But still not quite. It will be great to try something new. Anyone who is not sure ,go for it, the lady who called me to book me in was very nice! Nowt to lose

I hope all these injuries are healing ok.

Thanks a lot. I am going for Production role and hope i get through. Couple of minutes ago i received an email from Rio Handover team. It says .. "to help with production" and audition been booked. So i guess there must be a practical work to assess team work and spontaneous action in swift time of organisational skills. Whatever skills i have, i would apply. Definitely a plus point for my CV and who knows i could be a director in near future

Well done hutsulka - GO FOR IT AT THE AUDITION. The choreo's very generic and , enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!

There's no recall or second audition with this one and as the team keep saying : Do not see this as an audition but a chance to enjoy yourself as they want a party atmosphere to reflect the carnaval vibe. A few of my drummer friends are already saying how excited they are to be part of this - and they haven't even auditioned yet :giggle:.

Think : Party :dancing2:, party :dancing:, party :bumps:, Carnaval :taz:, Carnaval :party2:, Carnaval !!!

You should have everything you need to know already? How come you know they were meant to email yesterday?!? I don't think anyone will give you the info - unless you personally know people on here as information is strictly confidential!

I see, that is a bit odd! I don't know anything about this segment but suggest you contact the casting - I guess you can get a number from Olympics website/info from your previous emails surely? Sorry I can't help

Good question. The group is CLOSED so only members can see what is posted and only members can approve requests to join.

The group description has instructions on how to join, so please feel free to visit it if you would like to join us.

I'll tell more people about it at our next rehearsal and it's a great place to share pics, vids, choreo, etc.

    xx

Sounds interesting but I was just wondering, how would this be policed? In terms of determining who are genuine 63As and who isn't? Was wondering whether it's safer to result to email? As this is an Open Forum, it may leave the page wide open to other people discovering what our Segment is doing. (I'm just being cautious in terms of the Confidential Agreements which we signed.)

Sorry to be a pain but FB isn't the most secure in terms of privacy issues. Also, not everybody's on FB

Yes, I've spotted this BUT I already know the identities of the Group members, plus their names, which if a Cast Co-Ordinator did a search on Facebook in relation to the different segments, this Group would pop up. Also, anyone from Casting could "blag their way in" in order to learn what information is being shared. I'm just a bit concerned that this group may land some Cast Members in hot water which I really do not want to happen - honest.

I'm sorry if it sounds as if I'm nit picking but I can't help but feel nervous about this, especially as Facebook is mentioned in the Confidentiality Agreement.

Also, another thing to think about: There's a couple of Facebook friends I know who do not make it a secret to share their login details - I've the daughter of one friend who "pretends" to be my friend, only to have my friend come on later saying that they weren't on line. These things do happen and all I am saying is you have to be extremely careful about what is being shared on there. If I really was determined, I could log into my other half's Facebook account - not that I'd want to go into his account anyway.

This is auditions for the Rio handovers at both closing ceremonies - it's a separate process and casting crew from the London Casting team and their part of the ceremonies. Dancerwoman has posted quite a bit of detail over the last week or so.

dymonds - there was someone yesterday (can't recall username) who posted to say that she'd be invited to be filmed on Friday. I'd suggest you take a look back and try to PM her to see if she got any additional detail.

Here you go - this was the post that Pepperkate made

Look on TSR page 420, as I've posted a flier which has all the details. It's worth going for and believe me, speaking as someone who auditioned for them last Saturday, it's a fun "audition" (yes the word "fun" and "audition" in the same sentence is not a mistake) to do

    Hi,

Obviously won't say much just in case (not that I don't believe you) however I can confirm that the final email we received was almost identical to the other emails about it. same start time, same venue and just that you need your ID. Apart from that no other new info. hope this helps (and hope I havn't broken any rules!) :-) x
