Just back from the village fete I was playing out at today with my brass band group - super weather there too so we were so glad of the marquee type structure provided to keep as cool for sure - still drank my 500ml bottle of water dry by the end of the first 30 min. set though ! I rarely drink enough liquids usually and am always being told to have more in hot weather especially) #whatascorcher
Over the past few days i've been drinking loads, not because i'm thirsty but so i don't get tired and have a headache! i brought 2 2L Bottles of Evian, 2 Bottles of 500ml Ice Tea and 1L Bottle of 7up and i drank all with the exception of about 100ml of my 7up =] i think it's great how much water is around for us to drink! =] People just need to remember to keep drinking! =]

Did Everyone enjoy themselves today? I bet everyone on the District Line train at 8 thought 'WOAH...WTF!...WHERE ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE FROM!!! ' =]

Commonliner!!! We're supposed to be organised and always on time. You must have been over here for too long :naughty:
    I know! :ashamed:
But the rehearsal had a bilingual component, so I was able to make up and shine...

Urgh! Rehearsal in the sun with a hangover today. I need to get some Berocca and drink a gallon of water and put my best foot forward. I hope I don't wilt.

Tell me about it - as soon as I got home, I wrote as much down as I could remember. I got to just one left that I couldn't remember and it bugged me for about half an hour until I got it.. Happy to share my notes with any other 51ers, though not sure how much sense they make!
Yes please Ellie! I have an appalling memory and I've only been able to jot down about half of the stuff. I'll also be missing the next 1:1 rehearsal on the 9th, so I really need to revise some of this stuff before I go back. Thanks! X

Been up awhile watching the live torch relay. It will be going through my home town Aberaeron at about 5.21pm where my younger brother is in charge of security. I feel quite emotional watching and would have loved to carry it but unfortunately I did not get nominated for all I do in the promotion of vino and its wonderful qualities!!

Oh dear - I hope that all of our 1:1ers don't end up too frazzled by the end of the day. You will be in my thoughts as I sip Pimms in the park

Hah! Bignic, if only we'd known you as well last summer - and how exciting for your brother. I don't know any torch bearers personally - but have had a go with an unlit torch at work which was quite fun. I too am looking forward to watching it go through my home town in June. It is passing within a mile of my sister's house and then is actually going past my granny's gate so I'll be looking out for them on the feed! There's a few hours between them since the flame stops for lunch so Mum is currently figuring out whether she should go and see it with each of them!

And this 61 pic seemed appropriate since it's Monaco Grand Prix day

Does anyone know if the dignitaries and heads of state are generally expected to join in with Olympic audience participation? Will one of the 41ers be expected to tell the Queen what to do?!?!
hahaha that's quite a thought. I remember a shot of Chelsea Clinton during the Sydney Opening waving her torch around so I guess some of them join in.

Hope everyone is having fun at rehearsals this weekend and my thoughts are still with all the not heards. Do any Rio handover auditionees have a wildly underestimated guideline for how long until you hear?

At my audition which was May 13th the Rio people mentioned the beginning of June, but might be different for later auditionees (at the end of the audition they actually told our group we were all in but didn't specify roles). I know I'm really lucky but in this weather Pimms in the park sounds a much more sensible idea than 4-5 hours of high energy dancing and running around, plus my brain doesn't function in heat - will be loading up the sunscreen.

Re crib sheets - it was about our 6th rehearsal before we received some crib notes by email from casting - and stuff is still being tweaked so I'm sure we will get more later on!

Re Rio - my audition group was told we would know before 10th June CAN'T WAIT :-)

What a hot day for dancing - great though and now heading for park. Hope you all have a great day !!

Had first rehearsal at 1:1 yesterday like the rest of the drummers/marshallers. Was really fun, I was expecting the marshalling part to be boring but it turns out there's a lot to do!

Someone also told me that our group is on for the longest, probably because as well as drumming for 20 mins we are marshalling for an hour, exciting stuff!

    hi
i was also there at 1:1 and yes i think the drummers will be the longest segment, we will actually be marshalling for about 2 hours as there are 10,500 competitors to get into the stadium plus the speaches and lighting of the cauldron.
i was in the samuri group yesterday with a low number.

So hot today! But hooray for the beautiful fresh tarmac - such an improvement. Fun to catch some of the NHS segment next door...

And, as for 44, it's all looking more and more spectacular as a concept each week - even if the rehearsals might feel a bit mundane... Just glad to be back home, in the shade!

I would say "Go Samurai, but we were the worst team I went out about half way in the most obvious manner, going right instead of left!

Had a lot of fun yesterday, and what a great, free way of getting fit!

I was the last Samurai competitor! Got a bit overconfident though and turned round too much. Sorry guys!

It was so scary having everyone watching! Then I realised yesterday was nothing compared to what's coming...! Eek!

Yesterday was lovely meeting everyone, and now we've had a taste of both elements of our role the excitement is really kicking it
