    Football Forum Book Club
I am in no way qualified to start this but we do have a couple of learned users of this forum such as Nirav and Louis who may be interested by this. I would like some suggestions as to how this might work. We can either just go for a pileup and just list books that everyone should read, or do something more cultured and meet weekly sipping fine wines and nibbling on cheese as we discuss the book of the week like Richard and Judy. For what it's worth, I'm Judy.

    As you were.

    Yet I'm Cowlinesque?

Would prefer the latter tbh, would get a decent bit of discussion going rather than the standard list of books you can find in threads anywhere. :beard:

Yeah would be up for it, I've gone a bit crazy this summer and read a lot of football books, reading about 5 different ones atm, but there's no harm in re-reading if a book I've already read comes up.

Cowlin would do this wearing a silk kimono. Yes I've seen it :afraid:

I would quite like anything that may even in the tiniest bit provoke me to read more as I am deeply uncultured so even if as I anticipate there are only about 5 people interested it might still be nice. I suggest we start with something light such as the history of Aston Villa's gang violence in the 70s :holmes:

I want to read Jimmy Burns' Barca which I started but left at home before I moved up :facepalm2: Leave that one until this thread crumbles and dies so I can read it in my own times

I guess if you guys are avid readers you've already gone through the best stuff like Jonathon Wilson.

I've not read Anatomy of England yet but have read his others. He's got a book on Clough coming out sometime soon too, will probably worth checking out.

Saw him the other week at a launch for the latest issue of the Blizzard. :coma:

Same, not read The Anatomy of England but have read the others. I think most avid readers have read ITP.

Would be interested in reading the one about Barca.

Is Inverting the Pyramid actually any good? Or is it one of those books that people have got to say is good because of the following it has got?

Interested, tbf. If anyone has sites that sell the books cheap that'd be a great help - I know Amazon is cheapish but those ***** charge for p&p.

Amazon themselves don't charge for P&P. The marketplace sellers do but as you can get the books from them for as little as a quid at times, it's worth it.

You should just go into Waterstones and read books there if you can't afford them. You're unlikely to finish a whole book in one sitting(unless you go there everyday) but will get a good idea of it if you read a chapter or two.

It is very good. :yep: I doubt there is a better book on tactics out there.

It's a good way to scout books, that's what I do before deciding if I should buy a book. :creep:
