Ever since Hogan joined tna it has gone downhill. With him signing up old, retired washed up grandads who are only in it for the paycheck. I personally believe the fast paced, agile and exciting style of the X division brought out the best in TNA. Think 2005-2008, some of the best ever TNA matches were in that time period.

Re: The TNA Impact Wrestling thread
TNA have expanded into India. TNA and the TNA-affiliated The Sun paper are gushing over how successful it's being and how enthusiastic the crowd is.

Matt Morgan is the first world champ there, which is kinda a bummer because, from what I saw of TNA, Morgan was an 'almost' man like Edge, Jericho and Jeff Hardy before him - someone who is so close to being a champ for so long and is built up well, and gets screwed out of being champ at one point or another before finally getting it and getting a massive pop (bar Jericho 'cause he was heel and it was a bit of a chaotic title picture). But now he's been handed a TNA B championship.

Considering how unpopular travelling to India is in wrestling (and perhaps in general >_> ), that's the worrying thing. You wouldn't see William Regal there. But this is TNA, they don't take risks - they just run 150mph into whichever direction they're going and take every next turn (SWERVE!) expecting to not hit a wall.

Anyone going to any one of the TNA events when they are in the UK next month?
I am very tempted to go to the one at Wembley Arena in London.

I'd actually argue that it's very smart of TNA to go to India. It's an unfortunate fact that, as it is, professional wrestling is dying in it's traditional bases of United States, Canada, Mexico and Japan, and so they are building their reputation in the newer economic powerhouses, just like how UFC are targeting China.

As long as no-one gets severely ill more than once, otherwise then there could be problems internally.

TNA's Hulk Hogan is doing TNA's publicity for their UK tour. To get some hype, he will be appearing on... Loose Women...

I watched that interview last night. It's ok but there's nothing special about it. It's pretty short and basically just outlines what TNA is and their touring and bit about him and his career and injuries etc.

I'm going to the event at Wembley Arena on Saturday :woo:

I was thinking about it for a long time. At first I looked at what was avaliable and there were ringside seats avaliable but I put it off and a few days later I had to settle for seats a little further back. But still I'll be pretty close to the action hopefully.

But after their recent PPV, how much lower can it go?
A question asked way back in the first post of this thread...and unfortunately, the answer was "much", the prime evidence of that being Bobby Roode's ****ing dreadful run as a heel. OK, it's been years since he was last a heel so perhaps he's a little out of practice, but he is so crap at it right now. Every time he picks up a microphone it's like a broken record: "I'm the world heavyweight champion, I'm the world heavyweight champion, I'm the world heavyweight champion"...when he finally loses the title, how does his character develop from there? "I'm the...wait, I'm not the world heavyweight champion any more. Umm, I was screwed by Sting. Whine, whine, bitch, bitch"?

And yes, we get the point that Roode's a heel. That doesn't mean he has to blatantly cheat in every match, get DQ'd in half, walk off as if he'll just accept a countout loss in half and all this nonsense. Bobby "retain the title at all costs" Roode right now is so unbelievably one-dimensional. The only 'clean' victory I can recall him having since turning heel was in the rematch with AJ where it ended as a time-limit draw, the match was restarted and he got a roll-up while AJ was staring lovingly into Sting's eyes...it doesn't exactly do his credibility as a main eventer (or as a singles wrestler in general) any favours if he's unable to get clean victories.

Went to TNA in Manchester the other night. Got a ticket for fan interaction too and met Sting!!!! Got a photo with him and a signed t-shirt. We talked briefly about the WCW days and about whether or not he had any interest in breaking "the streak" one day. He smiled and asked "what streak would that be then?" and I dropped a few hints about some trenchcoated dude with a hat. He said he'll think about lol. Such a cool guy. Also got to kiss Tara and Mickie James!!!!! Ok I kissed them on the hand but still it was a dream to kiss who in my opinion are two of the hottest female wrestlers ever. The WWE Divas roster is lacking without them! But yeah my heart-rate was soaring after that!

Shame Hogan wasn't at fan interaction but I did see him in the show and Kurt Angle too (who wasn't at Fan Interaction either). All in all it was good fun and I will certainly come back again next year if time will allow it and I'll try to go to fan interaction again. £125 well spent in my opinion. I will get my Sting t-shirt (signed!) framed and hang it proudly on my wall.

Sure TNA is nowhere near the WWE's level heck it has a long way to go before it can even be considered a prime alternative but it's got the right ingredients and if they keep up their appreciation and dedication to their fans in the US, UK and internationally then it's certainly heading in the right direction.

TBF that's indicated by the only names you mentioning being former WWE guys and the sole non-WWE guy left considered a legend. :P

I would've humped Tara's legs. I would be kicked out, but worth it. Y'know, if my charms weren't working.

Good point. If it makes you feel better I'd have done the same but alas chickened out. I can tell you after kissing her hand and then licking my lips it tasted good! She really is a perfect woman in my opinion. Add her on Twitter if you can. She also has a wishlist on Amazon. I might even buy her a present as a way of saying thank you in time for her birthday on February 10th.

I'm Jealous, very jealous. I went to TNA at Wembley but I didn't go to the fan interaction (if there was one around there.)
I had a fairly good seat and I have to say it was good seeing it live and for real. Generally a pretty good night although I'm not sure I'd go again unless I was sure I had a better seat with mroe elevation to get a better overall view.
I was in the front and centre, almost ringside. Not so great when people are constantly standing up and there are pillocks up front always waving their damn signs.

But on the whole it was pretty cool. Plus I'm clued in about a few things yet to be revealed on future Impact Wrestling shows.

By the way, did you also meet Velvet Sky? I would have loved to have met her, she is such a babe.

Has to be said, TNA have done a better job of entering the British consciousness than WWE have managed in years.

Loose Women may be seen as an embarrassment, but a lot of people watch it. Hulk Hogan got on BBC News' Five Minutes program, and Kurt Angle was the guest this week on Mark Lawrenson's Premier League predictions.

All "small" appearances but ones that have an audience of millions. Hogan's face was in the BBC News front page two days ago, Angle is on BBC Football's front page now. When was the last time WWE really went for it in terms of British promotion? Perhaps they never needed to?

Fan Interaction was on at all three venues but tickets sold out very quickly so if you want to go ffor next year there's a batch on pre-sale atm. I got mine via ticket exchange. Paid slightly over the odds for my ticket but considering I met Sting and got to kiss Tara and Mickie James, I think it was money well spent.

Velvet Sky wasn't there. She was in London doing an autograph signing that day in Westfield Stratford shopping centre. Gutted I couldn't meet Hogan but I was happy none the less. My seats weren't too far from the ring. It was level 1 tier which was essentially on the floor but about 10 or so rows from the ring but an excellent view and got some good photos. Would have been nice to have been ringside but I guess fan interaction made up for that. Heck as long as I had the FI tickets I'd have been happy sat high up in the rafters.

WWE should consider a similar initiative like their Fan Axxess they do at Wrestle Mania.

There were two people who weren't at the show in London that I wish had been. One was Eric Young because he's awesome. He's funny and actually a good wrestler and good athelete too, and the other is Rob Van Dam. He's a damn good wrestler too, would have been good to seen him at the show. Maybe next year.

You were lucky to meet Sting, he seems like a pretty awesome character. So grounded these days with his almost 30 years in the business. And Tara and Mickie James? Nice, they are two damn good and damn sexy ladies.

All in all it sounds pretty good.

EY :suith: Such a shame that as long as he has the comedy gimmick he'll never amount to anything more than a lower midcarder/jobber because, as you say, he's a good talent...but I really wish he'd get a random world title shot so he can lose that bloody hideous beard Would be easy to slot in with a heel champion who wants to prove they're a "fighting champion" by taking on random jobbers while hiding away from main event level face challengers...but I imagine I'll be living more in hope than expectation there :p:

Impact spoilers for anyone who watches the Tuesday repeats
Is there anyone at all who didn't see Garrett's trainer being Hogan? Come on, Hogan only knows about five moves and if he's ever done any moves Garrett's done in the past couple of months (even the really basic moves like a snapmare or arm drag) then I'll eat my hat...after going out to buy one :p: Garrett having a mystery trainer who Eric would be 'shocked' to see would have been an ideal opportunity to introduce a new worker to the roster (one who can actually wrestle) who has a historical connection to Eric. Missed opportunity for TNA there :sadnod:

Mark Haskins was ****ing lucky if all he got from his botched shooting star press was just a "minor concussion" as he claimed on Twitter. He looked like he got his arms out to take most of the impact just in time but it still looked like it'd be a really nasty head injury for him...and if Aries was aware of the botch then the stuff after to finish the match (kick to the face, brainbuster and last chancery, which all target the head/neck) was incredibly risky.
Hopefully Haskins is OK, and might appear a bit more frequently on TNA. I rather like him. Certainly a hell of a lot more than Zema Ion, who is about as crap and irritating as Robbie E. Considering Ion botched the 450 splash and a handful of other moves in his first Impact match in the Destination X qualifier back in June I was surprised they stuck with him.

Was also funny with the fans cheering for the heels in half the matches. But I was kinda hoping to hear a "Joe is gonna kill you" chant, which I haven't heard in years

And a Star Wars-themed episode coming up this week? What the hell? I suppose it's a perfect opportunity for a specialised hardcore match (light-tube match or kendo sticks only, for a 'lightsaber' battle?) or something, but...yeah...this week sounds 'interesting', to say the least

TNA have declared Impact Wrestling will be shown live in the US every Thursday night throughout the summer.

Hulk Hogan recently tweeted that he felt that TNA going live would "solve 75 per cent of the issues" the company has.

    *bangs head on desk*

TNA also announced on Thursday the signing of Brooke Hogan — daughter of Hulk.

The 24-year-old is being hired as an executive to assist with the Knockouts division.

That's LEGIT, not on-screen. I look forward to seeing how Brooke's wealth of experience in women's wrestling works for TNA.

Haha! I don't even know why they need anyone to assist with the Knockouts. The women, as they are, are easily one of the best things about the company.
