Re: University of Kent Applicants 2012
    Hi there,
Myself and 2 friends are looking for a 4th person to join us at a house in Gillingham, Medway. Very close to the Universities at Medway (Kent, Greenwich, Christ Church) campus.

It's a very nice house, situated on a hill overlooking the river Medway and Hoo Peninsula. It has 4 rooms (obviously ), 1 bathroom, conservatory, spacious living room, large back garden w/ pond ...

Rent is £380 a month - all bills included, and an initial non-refundable registration fee of £125 is required - NO DEPOSIT.
We would 'prefer' a house mate who's; outgoing, friendly, and a student at either Kent, Greenwich or Christ Church.

If you're interested contact myself or my other house mates via:
    Twitter: @KoningAshley | @Helzz__ | @RiannaO
    BBM: 2392ADCA
    Or TSR & ab670@kent.ac.uk

    Thanks

So this might seem a silly question but what happens now Kent is my firm?

Will they contact me before results day to confirm anything or are we not meant to hear anything until we've got our results?

I'm not sure. I've had surveys from some of the universities I've rejected asking for feedback, and UEA has contacted me about making them my insurance. But nothing from Kent

Same here my insurance uni is sending loads out so far. I guess Kent likes to keep quiet just like when we first applied to them. If they'd just send some form of congratulations letter in 5 months I've heard more from numerous Nigerian princes than I have Kent

    Hey,

First off lucky you, I wish I had unconditionals right now!

As for choosing between Leeds and Kent it really all depends on what you're looking for; nightlife, league table position, location etc.

I'd recommend thinking about what and where you want to be. Kent is near to the countryside but also next to Canterbury and the sea, whereas, Leeds is inland much further north and has a big city.

Hope this helps a bit but like I say it all depends what you're looking for in a university?

The Campus is set on a hill above the town, surrounded by countryside. It's really green, but it's only a 5 minute bus ride from the high street (buses are constant, there's one every 3-5 minutes at peak times I'd say), takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from campus to the high street. There's a mini Tesco in the centre of town but most people go to the huge Asda or Sainsbury's that are just outside town, depending on where you live Morrisons is quite close too.

In terms of halls, I'd recommend Parkwood if you want a lively atmosphere with lots of people around - it's essentially like a village of students. Depending on your budget you can go for the flats (expensive) or the houses (one of the cheapest accomodations) but it's definitely the place to be and is about a five minute walk from main campus.

Couldn't tell you about the Gym on Campus, sorry!
