what type of things did you write for this? thats concerning..what grade did you get?
Well, I think it's because I didn't link it back to the original question as well as I could have? But for example, for that schizophrenia question, I provided evidence to support my point from Copeland et al and this got me AO2 marks. But when I evaluated the study itself saying that it was carried out in 1971 or whatever, so it may not apply now blahblah. I got no marks for points like those.

Was very lucky with this exam. Spent ages typing out all the notes but only spent 1 1/2 days "revising" from my notes.

I did this exam, Schizophrenia, addiction and ofcourse, esearch methods and got an A.
Te research methods was pretty easy, my advice is to learn the key terms you learnt at AS, like independent measure, repeated, different experimental desgins, lab experiments etc.
Use theese, then just common sense.

The last section of rsearch methods is 12 marks, you have to desgin your own experiment usually. Rule = KIS. Keep it simple. The whole way through think "common sense".
Say what you're doing, the method (how many PPs, how you find them)
Justify why, how you'll present reults.
Don't go writing an essay on this. Use headings "method" and so on. Then you can write short cetences or bulet point.

For addiction and schizopghrenia, learn the basic content, then all i can say is A02 A02 A02!!!!!!!! That's how you will get an A. Know your A02 well. It's the most important bit.
Write a basic summary (about 2 paragraphs of the issue, such as the classification of Sz) then atleast double of A02. What the issues are with it, the same A02 points ocme up in this exam.
Ecological validity, other vvalidity, you can't generalise, individual differences, is Schizophrenia even a disorder its self? There are apparently 2 types, says Crow, but the symptoms overlap with Autism, OCD, Depression. So it is just a mix of disorders? It's inconsistent with symptoms,a nd a late onset.
    Theese sorts of criticisms are used for addiction, but probably media too, I'mnot sure though :}
    good luck ^^
(also, apologies for the bad spellings / typing, theese school computers aren't too good, very slow too)

Okay these are just some things I did for this exam, but don't take it as gospel!

    - Start making your notes as early as possible. There is such a ridiculous amount of content, the sooner you start, the easier you'll make it for yourself. It depends how you learn, but for me I write all my notes out first, then revise from these like my own revision guide type thing.

    - Don't revise dates for studies, there's literally no point. They don't get you marks and just stress you out and confuse you! (I even risked it by not even revising any psychologists' names, except from like 2 or 3. I GENUINELY only mentioned a couple psychologists' names only two or three times throughout the whole paper. I simply said "research has shown..." etc. which is why I have been so shocked. I didn't even use percentages/values/numbers for findings or anything. However in raw marks I did get 68/83, so I must have dropped some marks for being too vague in some areas but yeah)

    - Don't panic about it. I got myself so worked up and stressed about the amount of content and how late I'd left revision that I had an emotional breakdown the night before! But once you're in the exam it all comes back to you so don't worry about it.

    - Make sure you learn your AO2. Since this is where most of your marks are coming from, you've got to make sure you nail it. Half the time, AO1 can mostly be blagged i.e. outlining the behavioural model for something, you already know what the basis of it is, so you can just apply it to the question. But you can't blag research so make sure you know it (in fact, I didn't revise the model that they asked for the Addiction question, since it had come up in a previous paper or my teacher said it was unlikely to come up... so I had to apply my knowledge on what I knew about that model for Depression to Addiction, and I still got an A)

    - Don't write plans for your essays. This just wastes time.

    - Make your structure really clear. If anything, make sure your AO2 is in a new paragraph to your AO1. I even made every single new AO2 point a new paragraph, since this breaks it up really nicely and the examiner knows you're starting a new point (plus they must like coming across a clear, structured essay once in a while!)

    - and my last piece of advice is READ THE BACK PAGE DAMNIT XD so many people forgot to turn over to the last page and missed out on 16 marks. Don't do the same!

heres the spec change outline :

It says cognitive dissonance and that element is removed.

I saw it on another spread as well directly from aqa - il try find that too.

Edit1: found the provided spreads for the update from complete companion book:

Edit2: Direct link to the spec on AQA website: scroll down to Media and you will see that element is no longer there!
