It's very competitive. I think the LSE has the lowest undergrad admission rate in the UK.

more competitive than oxbridge, you could argue. I know plenty of people thap applied to both and got into oxford/cambridge but not LSE.

I think in 2010, 6.9% of all UCAS applicants to LSE got a confirmed place there, the lowest rate in the country.

From what i've heard, competition for places is even more fierce than Oxbridge.

Well, it's pretty easy if you do the following:
    Get great grades.
    Get more great grades.
Kill every other applicant who is applying for the course there.
    Give a lot of head.
    Write a great PS.
    Have plenty of extra curricular.
    Get more great grades.
    Give some more head.

    Good luck OP.

Actually there's no point in that. Think about it, it's the London School Of Economics An Political Science.
They're great economists there, they don't have even a want for the pocket money these kids make. If they want money they can just pop into an IB firm and go "WHY HELLO THERE MY GOOD FRIEND, LISTEN TO ME BECAUSE I IZ A LSE TEACHER LECTURER PERSON! I would like to make some money for you and me " or if they're feeling lazy, write a book or two (which most do whilst they sleep).

By the way in case you didn't know, that's how all LSE lecturers and teachers initiate conversations, "WHY HELLO THERE MY GOOD FRIEND, LISTEN TO ME BECAUSE I IZ A LSE TEACHER LECTURER PERSON!"

If anything its more difficult, as LSE has the highest number of international student applications of any Uni in Britain...So international competition is crazy hard.

Its down to excellent grades , PS , references but the main thing you need is LUCK ! Some people who had lesser grades got in whereas some with brilliant grades lost out , so obviously luck plays a huge role esp if you re a home student . But as a international , its a bit different ..
