Anyone doing Architecture at Oxford Brookes?
Hello everyone! I've just been asked to submit a portfolio of creative work to study Architecture at Oxford Brookes. Do you know if they ask that to almost everyone as a normal procedure or my personal statement has been important as well? Does anyone have an experience of being offered a place even though the portfolio was not that good? Because I'm really worried about it :/ thanks

Re: Anyone doing Architecture at Oxford Brookes?
Hello!
Myself and two others from my foundation course were all asked to submit an e-folio and I believe it was based on our personal statements.
The first to hear back was refused a place, the other was asked for an interview but I haven't heard back yet! Have you not had any offers yet either? -
Re: Anyone doing Architecture at Oxford Brookes?Hey! Yeah I think that's quite normal, I mean for me they first asked to submit an online portfolio, then a few months later they invited me for an interview.(Original post by frydls)

I reckon that the personal statement is probably more important than say the portfolio since you're not even asked for the portfolio until they've looked at your personal statement. Also I think the main purpose of the portfolio is just to check-up on basic technical drawing skills which you probably have if your taking Architecture.
You shouldn't worry too much, as long as your portfolio shows sufficient proof of your amazing artistic skills, you should be fine
If you want I could link you to my portfolio (which I think is quite average
) Or, I could have a look at yours.
Btw I was invited for an interview and turned it down, and luckily for me they gave me an offer and even lowered the grade requirements
So don't worrry! I'm sure you'll get an offer in no time
