shame on the University of Nottingham

Really shameful action taken by Nottingham here, given that Universities are supposed to be bastions of intellectual freedom.

Old news. And it needs more thought than you have obviously given it. By the way, you should change your name - it is not clever!

Don't get me started on this!!

I signed up to his module on Afghanistan and Pakistan and was looking forward to it. Then the bastards withdrew it on the grounds that he was still suspended.

1. The event in question may be old, but if you actually bothered to take a look at the articles, you'll find that the Al Jazeera article was posted on their site 4 hours ago, making it relatively new news.

2. Educate me bro. What exactly have I failed to think about?

3. What is your problem with my username?

Cnuts!

Thats a shame man, that does sound interesting. Surely every relevant society worth their salt should be hounding the administration to get this bloke reinstated, as well as the students union, do you know if this is the case?

Maybe they went too far, but I see their point. They saw a Muslim bloke downloading a terrorist training manual, and looking at the number of British muslims being brainwashed into terrorism through university they had a right to act, they could have done it more sensitively though.

In america you'd be treated far, far worse. They have guys on the radio practically calling for civil war against all Muslims. It's horrible.
This issue erupted, was dealt with to a fairly satisfactory outcome for the guy, why he hasn't returned to Nottingham could be either of many reasons.

Hi everyone, can we keep this on topic please (the issue discussed in the original post). Thanks.

OP you should read a loooong PDF essay by the academic who tried to fight against it (he was the accused student's tutor).

Read this https://wikispooks.com/w/images/e/e4/Radicalisation-at-Universities-or-Radicalisation-by-Universities.pdf

if you can't be arsed to read everything, just read the first 3 pages and last 3 pages. Disturbing indeed.
